Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

My 9inch samsung tv won't go on, or shuts off, when the red light that says power/ timer is on. Though I don't know what I'm doing, sometimes when I push in one of the two buttons that say p mode on the left-the top one has an arrow pionting up and the bottom one pionts down- and one of what I believe are the STD buttons (there are two buttons beside the p-mode buttons,it is confusing there are 4 buttons altogether)simutaneously, I get the red light to start flashing than the tv will go on when I catch the button off-in between power button flashing. I wish I could draw it for you/ :{p-mode: " /to the far right is a switch I could push in as well. Look or sound familiar? the tv is shutting off more often. Can you help the model# isTN3866TB 1992 RC1 20V 60Hz 75W Please Help! Susan

It's a 1992 samsung, so I lost the manuel. The switch to the far top right side the has two extensions; if you push in the one on the left, they both stay pushed in. This has no words written by it.

    Step
    1
    - Pull the batteries out of the remote and leave them out
    until Step 4.

    Step
    2
    - Press and release each and every button one at a time
on the remote control until every button has been pressed and released at
    least once!

    Step
    3
    - If your remote has slide switches, you must move the switch
to each position then repeat the button pushing in Step 2.
    (When
you're done, be sure to put the slide switch in the correct position to
operate the unit the remote came with!)

    Step
    4
    - Put the batteries back into the remote,
being very careful to install them correctly.
    New
batteries should be used if you're not sure about the old ones.

    Step
    5
    - Try the remote.

** TV won't turn on.** No picture or sound. Please Help !

If the red light won't come on it is not getting power.First, try plugging it in to a different outlet,or unplug one of the gadgets you know is working and plug the tv in there. You are simply switching. If you know that there is power coming from the outlet and it still won't come on then you'll have to check the cord;don't go much farther than that without expert help.

We have a red light flashing on the front of the tv.It shut off and we don't know how to turn it back on.

A red flahing light is sometimes a Standby Mode. Does the power button on the remote turn it on.Sometimes the remote has multi funtions and you need to select TV for it to work.Try using the Power Button on the TV.Good Luck.

Samsung 50 inch DLP has power will not turn on

Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. Here's the instructions to replace it :http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp47-00033a.php It's major symptoms are clicking, electrical sounds, shuts off and on and get the lamp indicator. But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs,It's major symptoms are clicking, electrical sounds, shuts off and on and get the lamp indicator, it could be time to replace the lamp.Note lamp sometimes doesnt look bad when it's bad.The lamp you need is BP9601472A you can find it here http://www.discount-merchant.com/Samsung-HLM437W1X-OEM-Replacement-LAMP-BULB-p/samsung-hls5087w-lamp-sm.htm?Click=48173.Have a blessed one!

Hl-s4266w Powers on for about 15 seconds then turns off. Was told it is a timer that needs to be turned off by using factory remote - I have lost the remote! now what?

Not sure about the timer. Our 55" samsung broke last week and it was shutting on/off no picture just turn on music recycling off/on. The blue light was lite on TV and red light to the right was blinking. The TV repair guy replace the Power Supply board b/c of swollen capacitors, was under warranty. The board runs about 70 bucks though. Took him all of 5 mins after unscrewing the back cover of TV. The board is at the bottom center after cover is removed. Hope this helps
