Question about ASUS WL-138G 802.11g/b (wl138g) Wireless Adapter
The WL-138g card in my tower (xp sp2) connects at 54mbps then after obtaining an address, throttles down to 18Mbps. Latest drivers are installed and I extensively tried various antenna positions both on the card, and on the router (a WL-700ge). Behavior the same via the windows or Asus interfaces and both interfaces claimed an "excellent" signal strength. My laptop running a belkin card maintains a strong 54mbps connection from the exact location.
I'm looking into the advanced driver settings but haven't had any luck yet. Suggestions? Thanks.
