Question about Sony VAIO GRZ660 Notebook
I cannot turn my laptop on at all because the DC IN outlet, or a part connected to it, does not carry a charge to the computer or the battery. I need an alternative solution to changing the whole motherboard such as a docking station that allows me to charge my laptop's battery and power up my computer by using the outlet at the bottom of the computer.But Would a docking station solve my problem? and where can i can i find it?
I think the problem is with the DC in because for a while the computer used to only turn on after i wiggle the cable and then put something on top of it to stabilize it in a position that kept the battery's indicator light on. that's how i knew i had the right position or enough of a charge for me to turn the computer on. That does not work at all now and no matter how much i wiggle it only one or two sporadic flashes of light from the battery indicator would come on. And even after having the computer on for a while the battery indicator would turn off and the computer would loose power and shut itself down.

This wiggling has been both the temporary solution and cause of future issues, essentially what you are wiggling was once soldered onto the motherboard and now one contact broke off and you had to wiggle it to get it to touch on where it should, now both contacts are probably broken and will be impossible to line up onthe board again.
Either way it needs looking at by a technician to ascertain what needs repairing, and if it is motherboard issue then you'l need a specialist repair centre that can repair motherboard faults. Dont be scared the good ones run a no fix no fee policy, and usual price for a fix is £35 for DC Jack repair and £55 for motherboard repair. If you need pointing to a reputable company let me know.
And yes, there are docking stations that have their own DC Jack and that will be another temporary solution, look on ebay or ask a local technician to source you one.
