Need a new plastic cover for the motor/electronics part.

Hi. I have been trying for the past 2 months, without success to order a new plastic cover for the motor/electronics component. This was completely shattered when we moved from Washington DC to Europe. It seems to work fine. I just haven't used it without a cover for the motor. thank you! It is indeed a Precor 9.21 purchased over 10 years ago. Can you tell me of a ditstributor in Slovenia/Austria where we could order this piece or some other solution suggestion? Croatia distributor has been useless. thank you very much! sincerely, wanting to run again!- linda ots

I have a Goodman Furnace model GDS80705AXBB installed in 2008 new house. Over the past month it has been shutting itself off before the room temp is reached then tries to run again but does not ignite. At...

Your furnace should have a 5 year warranty. Check with Goodmanmfg.com and see if it is still covered. The installer should have registered the serial #.

Hi. Have a scc-100 that needs a new battery. How do i pull it apart? Thanks, Jorgen

There is a hidden screw just above the charge jack that holds the top cover in place. Remove the plastic plug that hides the screw, unscrew the screw, and pry off the cover. My unit would not charge anymore. I think the charging electronics are poorly designed. I extracted the battery and electronics leaving only the motor, then wired the motor directly up to a 5 volt battery pack. It now works great!

Changing the wiper motor on a 1997 Audi A3

Here you will find the replacement of the wiper motor for Audi A4. Maybe similar for Audi A3! First you must diagnose your problem. In order to find out the cause of wipers stopping you can try follows: 1. Carefully extract the wiper arms from their axles (two pieces). In some cases you need to use an extracting tool. Heed of the windscreen !!! 2. Disassemble the plastic covers from the bottom of the windscreen. 3. With the bonnet up you can start the engine, (transmission in "N" or "P" position and parking brake on). Now you must switch on the control lever of the wipers, and go to the engine compartment. If the wiper motor runs let the wiper motor running for a few minutes and switch off. Go to the step 4. If the wiper motor do not runs you must check first the electrical feeding of the motor. It is necessary to unscrew three bolts of the mechanism and disconnect the electrical coupling (difficult assurance). If the electrical feeding is OK you must replace the motor - steps 5, 6, 7. If not you must check electrical connections, the control switch of wipers and electric cables. 4. Now you must check the two bearings of wiper mechanism with your hand. In the most cases the left bearing is out of order (is very hot). This is the most encounter fault of the wipers running at Audi. 5. For have enough space to manipulation the wiper motor together with their mechanism you must extract the plastic cover of the engine computer box, and extract also the box screws. Then you can move slowly the engine computer box, just for a few milimeters. 6. You must disconnect the electrical coupling of the motor (difficult assurance), unscrew three bolts of the mechanism and extract together with the motor. You must move them slowly between windscreen and engine computer box until the wiper motor go out together with the mechanism. This is the most difficult operation! 7. Now you can repair the bearings, replace entire wiper mechanism or replace the wiper motor. It is not very simply, but it works. Heed of the windscreen !!! Refit all in reverse order. Success!

Carrier 58mvp furnace ecm motor is making viberating noises

ecms are pretty reliable and electronic failure is much more common than bearing or bushing wearout. i suspect the fins on the blower may be coming loose from their pressed on spline and that will start a vibration or shimmy or you could have thrown a weight that balanced the wheel . best to use to warranty to get a new wheel. good luck

Sd 5000

the unit i purchased ran great for about 2 months then the video started to freeze. power cycled solved the problem initially, but when power cycling did not cure the problem, i started shaking and tapping the unit. at a point of throwing the unit away - took the cover off to see what's inside. with the cover off, it ran just fine . put the cover back, ran ok for a while then started freezing video again.
twisting the unit appears to make it function..
my solution that appears to work for my unit. .
loosen only the two screws holding the plastic drive mechanism down to the bottom plate (chassis) assumption is that the metal chassis was twisting the drive mechanism and offsetting the photo pickup.
this has worked for the past 2 weeks without a problem.

Vx800 flickers when cold

I have repaired several Viewsonic VX800 monitors. The symptoms include a power light that flickers or flashed on and off or a screen that flashes on briefly or stays off. The problem is bad electrolytic capacitors on the power supply board. These bad capacitors do not look bad and do not swell but they do develop a high ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance). You need a ESR meter to check them. But if you have these problems, you should assume the capacitors are bad and just go ahead and replace them.
First you must open the monitor and gain access to the power supply board.
1. Remove the stand: It is held with 6 screws on the back. Also on the back are 2 black screws that must also be removed.
2. Remove the button bar from the front, bottom: It is pried off. This will expose the 2 screws holding the front plastic bezel.
3. Remove the silver plastic bezel from the front: First remove the 2 screws holding it, then you can pry the rest off. This will expose the 2 screws holding the screen to the plastic back.
4. Remove the screen and electronics from the plastic back: Remove the 2 screws holding it. The 2 speakers are glued to the plastic case. Cut the glue with a knife. The screen and electronics and speakers should lift out of the plastic back.
5. Remove the metal cover to expose the electronics: There are 2 screws holding the VGA connector and 2 screws holding the DMI connector. There are 9 screws holding the cover. These must all be removed. There is a black plastic sheet glued to the lower edge of the cover. It must be lifted. The cover should now come off.
6. Replace the bad capacitors. The power supply and signal processor are on the same board. It is marked VG800-2. The bad capacitors are surfaced mounted 100UF 25V. The bad capacitors are CM16, CM17, CM2 and CM165. The two most critical are CM16 and CM17, but they all read high ESR, so I just replace them all as long as I have them exposed.
Reassemble in reverse order.
