My black ink was getting very low so I had a Nukote ink refill kit on hand so I filled the lexmark filer. In the past I have refilled a number of cartrdges. But when I replaced it the - install cartridge page came up I put in the type cartridge and said it was a used cartridge - and there the page sat - it wouldn't let me ok it or anything it just froze there. I tried to delete it but it wouldn't go away - it would just sit. I turned off my computr ad when I came back and trnit on - there it was. I thought ok maybe it wat to be refilled more then once so yesterday I went to town and bought a brand new unused cartridge, removed the tape installed it - the page came back up - I put the info in the right boxes - again wouldn't let me ok it r anything and all i's doing is sitting there. I thought ok maybe it just needs be asked to print something so I tried that - BUT - that didn't happen it just came right back to the install. So HELP hate to as for a fast responce but I haqve a couple of thngs I reall need to print as soon as I can. Thank you. Claudia
Unpack the archive, open the "Applications" folder, anddouble-click Setup. This will install the application - it can take abit.
Once the application is installed, turn the printer on and try a test scan. If it works, you're good and can quit reading.
If you get an error when running a test scan, don't
panic.Reinstall the regular printer driver, using the "Update Driver"
Restart your computer.
Do a new test scan. This should bring up the All In One
Center'sloading screen, which will start searching for programs (this
canreallllly take a while). When it's done, everything will be

“Lexmark does not support the refilling of its ink cartridges. Refilling the ink cartridges can cause them to leak, thus clogging or even damaging the print head. Any damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges may not be covered under warranty”. Please use genuine Lexmark cartridges for best results.
Only buy genuine Lexmark printer cartridges. If you go cheap & buy a generic refill, it will leak and gum up your printer. It will destroy your printer.
After getting the new cartridge, you simply pop out the old cartridge and pop in the new one.
many printer manufacturers put something (a chip?) in the circuit of the cartridge to prevent refilled ones from being recognized by the printer....when the "factory" cartridge is empty, the only way for the printer to see a full cartridge again is by using a "new" factory one, ...i guess it's the big name brands way of making sure you buy "their" ink and not use refulls.
There are a couple ways to trick it into accepting the cartridge. You can put a different one in, take it out and then put the filled one in. Or you can find a refill kit with instructions on what contacts to cover with tape and you have to do it 2 or 3 times to get the printer to reset. Sometimes you can shut off the computer and printer for 20 min and start it up again. Or you can get the sledge hammer and smash the stupid printer before it sucks up your life savings and vow never to buy from a company that profits from causing problems that they tell you can only be solved by using more of their overpriced solutions.
Hey....I solved the lexmark out of ink problem!!!HA!!! what you have to
do if you want to refill these is "pop" off the top of the cartridge.
It is not easy as it is glued down...using a small screwdriver
preferably a small flat jewelers screw driver you can peel back the
plastic that seperates the "lid" of the ink cartridge. you have to use
a little force but you can get it off. Once you do this the cartridge
will always read full!!!!!! just tape it or super glue it back on. You
never have to take it off again! although I recomend cleaning the ink
sponges inside every 3 refills. but this works great.....ha ha
lexmark.....I got ya!!!!
