A) It's probably something wrong with the drivers on your graphics' card. If it wasn't a laptop screen, I'd say it was hardware based as what you're describing is more like when the tubes go out on a TV--they start to "flicker".
B) There's also apparently an issue with your systems touch pad drivers.
My ultimate suggestion is to update your drivers for your graphics' card and touchpad using Acer's site and see if that resolves your issues.
