Question about Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0 for PC

1 Answer

Scanner problems When I make a multiple page pdf with my HP 7210 AIO I am able to review the borders of the first page scanned and adjust accordingly if needed. The problem is once I adjust the borders on the first page and click "accept" I am unable to adjust the borders on the following pages. Is there a way to lock in a 8 1/2 x 11 page size? I have Adobe 7 professional my operating system is windows XP 64 x 2.

I have the same problem. What I've been doing is scanning each page individually and then cropping them with Photoshop before importing them into Acrobat as a group. My HP 2840 AIO is scanning them into A4 format, and in order to correct that, I've tried what HP online chat assistance suggested: re-installing the software; but I still have the same problem. They then told me it must be my operating system. When support troubleshooters pass the buck, technology simply stops working. If this doesn't solve your problem, please let us know.

Hope this will FixYa!!!

    Yes, using Crop Page:

    Crop one or more pages

    1. Choose Document > Crop Pages.

    2. In the pop-up menu in the upper left corner, leave CropBox selected, and then adjust values for the Margin Controls: Top, Bottom, Left, and Right.

A black rectangle in the thumbnail page display shows the adjusted boundaries of the cropped page.

    3. (Optional) One by one, select ArtBox, TrimBox, and BleedBox in the pop-up menu, and adjust the Margin Control values each time. The adjusted boundaries appear as rectangles in the thumbnail page display: red, green, and blue, respectively.

    4. Select other options under Change Page Size, as appropriate for your PDF.

    5. Under Page Range, in the lower right area of the dialog box, do any of the following:

To crop all pages in the PDF, select All.

To crop only one page or a range of pages, select From, and enter page numbers in the From and To options.

To crop only every other page, choose an either Odd Pages Only or Even Pages Only on the Apply To menu. Otherwise, leave Even And Odd Pages selected.

Note: If you select a range of pages to be cropped, the odd- or even-pages setting applies only within that range. Otherwise, it applies to all pages in the document.

Because the Crop property is selected by default, the margin values that you specify determine the final Crop boundary. The dialog box displays each selected property as a different colored box in the preview area. Select Show All Boxes to preview all properties at once. Select each property that you want to adjust.

When I scan, using the ADF on my brothers mfc 6490, the resulting image is shifted, cutting off the right hand margin of the 8-1/2 x 11" scan. I am using Scansoft Paperport on my XP Pro laptop. The...

I read the whole paragraph and could not find a question, so I will try a few suggestions.
When you scan, select the option to open the scanner interface. It will give you more control on what you scan.

From the flatbed
When the scanner interface appears choose to Preview the scanned area. On the preview image click neat its border and you will see a dotted/ interrupted frame. Play with the borders of the frame to select the area. Intelligent software like Adobe Acrobat rotate the image to right it.

From the ADF
Check the alignment of the paper on the document feeder. Test the first page and see if it is correct. If it is, and all the subsequent pages have the same margins use the ADF If not, maybe you should use the flatbed.

How do I scan multiple documents and email them as one attachment

1. Click PDF on the Custom Scan with One-click tab or click PDF in the one-click mode screen to open the PDF dialog box.
* If you wish to convert the text in a document to editable text data, scan the item with the OCR. The precision of OCR is affected by the nature of the scanned original

2. Select the type of document to be scanned.
Important
To scan correctly, select a document type that matches the document to be scanned.

3. Select a file type to save the scanned image.
Select PDF, PDF(Multiple Pages) or PDF(Add Page)
Important
Click Set... to open a dialog box and specify the PDF compression type and other advanced settings for creating PDF files.
4. Place the first original on the scanner and click the [Scan] button at the right bottom corner of the PDF window.

5. When scanning is completed, place the next original and click the [Scan] button.

6. Repeat scanning by clicking the [Scan] button until you finish all the originals.
7. When all the original is finished, click the [Exit] button.

8. When the scan is complete, it automatically starts the application program that displays PDF files and opens the scanned image file in it.

To scan a text document or black and white document, you are recommended to set the Scan Mode to Black and White or Grayscale.
You are recommended to limit the number of pages in any one multiple PDF file to 20 or less if you are scanning a color document with the Image Quality set to 300 dpi and the size to a setting equivalent to Letter size.

I had this problem happen also and found that it was related to Acronis True Image Home 2011. When this program was uninstalled, the problem went away. I had even rebuilt the Windows 7-64 bit OS and the problem existed until Acronis was again removed.

''Out of Memory'' when using Print PDF Writer in Adobe

Hi Johnson,
My name is Dennis and I hope to assist you.
Your machine is telling you the trouth it has reached the limit of memory when using Adobe in the print mode. I don't know how much memory you have but you need more. If I am printing a document that has 90 or more pages I have the same problem and I have the maximum memory my machine will hold. You can always help the problem by having your machine defragged before you anticipate using memory at the max.
Glad to be of assistance. Please rate this solution because I will learn from your rating. Thank
you.

Editable forms with Adobe reader?

With adobe profesional you can make a PDF form, and send to the recipients. They can fill the form with Adobe reader and send it to you back, but only the data will be sent to you, not all with the pdf.
You can collect the data with your adobe profesional. Your programmer of medical paperless system can make the program to put that data in your database.
Here is the simple procedure:
1. Create form: Open adobe prof, menu advance --> Form --> create new form. You will go to Adobe design to create the form, there you can also retrieve your scanned document.
Don't forget to put "submit button" and your email address.
2. Then save as pdf form. It is ready to be send to your recipients.
3. The recipients will fill the data and send to you by pushing the "submit button".
4. You will receive the data in your mailbox, as an attachment of email. You can use adobe prof to collect it, example to put it in Microsoft Excel.
Go to menu advance --> form --> Create Spreadsheet from data files. A dialog box will come out, put in the files you received from your recipients. then go on, you will have the Excel data.
For put it in your database of your system, your programmer should create a program/ included in your system's program.

For Guest, to fill up is easy, just open the pdf form with Adobe REader, fill it and click the submit button.

Getting a message about and error on page.

Dear Wendy,

This can happen because of multiple reason:

a) It isn't your fault. The file publisher has not correctly made pdf or its corrupt and won't work on your system because all pdf files can be opened in almost all versions.

b)You might like to check your adobe 8.1 settings for complete installation. Have you correctly installed the program. Also check if you are able to other pdf files on your system or not.

c) you can also try an older version of acrobat, which i doubt should affect the problem.

Finally check the file extensions and password protection problems.

If that was helpful please press solved.
