Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

Whirlpool duet washer has rock, marble, or something stuck inside

There is a foreign object of some type inside the machine. I can hear it when the machine is washing clothes, and when it gets to the final spin cycle it is the loudest sound I have ever heard. I had Sears come out yesterday and they reccomended replacing the drum for $473. Any suggestions?

I've had mine for 1 week now - and it sounds like a pebble is in there! Maybe like a ticking noise? Once it really gets spinning the noise stops though - Not sure what to do -

We think there is a rock or a marble in our washer and are not sure how to get the drum out to check and remove it. How do we do this?

Loud noise during the spin cycle - sounds like a marble. Don't know how to remove the drum to get it out.

As long as your sure its an item between the tub assy the baffles in the drum can be removed and item fished out. but ifsomething snapped on the rear of the drum you would need to replace it. the baffle part number is 8182233, its about $40 thinknin thats worth a try before 475. the lower acess panel could also be removed and the main tub to pump hose could be removed which would give you a 3in hole to look through and try to grab somethin. worth a try

My F&P GW601 stops during final rinse, and beeps an error condition.

  • I just fixed a F&P GW612. There was a darning needle stuck in the drain motor pump stopping the propeller from spinning around. I fixed it for my mum by watching a couple of You Tube videos. Easy job to do. Took me about 1.5 hours including drawing out the water from the drum with a bucket & jug first. Lay the machine on a soft mat, remove the motor pump from underneath, clean it out. (You could find a foreign object such as a coin, cloth, rubber band etc.)
Put it back together & test if it's pumping out water at the rince cycle by doing a low water wash cycle. So happy, job done & I saved my mum some money!!

Whirlpool duet f09 error code

it is an overflow condition caused by either a plugged drain pump or a bad pressure switch,if you hit pause/cancel and the drain pump continues to run then check the drain pump cleanout for foreign objects

My washer will not spin!!!!!!!!

If water remains in the drum the unit will not go into the final spin. There may be a couple of reasons which I have experienced resulting in your problem. If water remains in the tub the unit will not go into the high speed spin.

1.) A coin or other foreign object could block the drain hose. Check the drain hose for foreign objects impeding the exit of the water. Shake the hose and listen for coins or a small object this unit will pass items through the pump into the hose causing blockage.

2.) The Drain hose is not raised above the machine outlet to create a siphon effect. See your manual for proper hose positioning. The hose needs to have a loop in it to work correctly.

3.) The pump is a third possibility which you should hear the impeller spinning during the drain cycle. There is a coin catch before the pump that looks like a rubber boot that should be inspected for objects if you remove the pump. The pump is about $60.00 and is accessible after removing the front panel under the door. It is easy access from the front and the hose clamps will be the most difficult problem. I have a ratcheting hose clamp tool designed for this type of clamp but channel lock pliers or vice grips will work.

If the washer will not agitate during the wash cycle you will need to remove the back panel to inspect the belt and spider pulley. You will also notice a counter weight at the top of the tub. Make sure the counter weight is tight and is not loose to prevent future problems.

F2 is flashing washer wont start

the F 02 errors in these machine means "Long Drain". 9 times out of 10 this is an issue with the pump. Pump problems plague these machines, not because they are faulty, but because things get inside them. Foreign objects like pencils, paper clips, etc. Generally you can remove the obstruction and resume using the washer. If you are unlucky, something damaged the pump and it will need to be replaced. Naturally there can be other causes to an F2 error, but this is the most likely.. by a loooooong shot :)

If you are a do it your self type of person, I can tell you how to take care of the pump yourself. This would require some tools and might get a little messy tho. Glad to help either way!

Depending on where the pump is purchased, it can cost anywhere from $120 - $200. good luck!

F21 Whirlpool duet washer, removed front panel unclogged restarted and still f21? Tech came in and had no idea said he smelled something burning, must of been his imagination.

ohh, duets are such a treat.

If the drain time exceeds eight minutes, “F21” will be displayed,
the water valves will turn off and the pump will stop running.
Press PAUSE/CANCEL to drain the machine. The display will be
cleared and the machine will turn off after a maximum of eight
minutes.

Possible Causes/Procedure
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or
kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure
the pump is running.
4. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. If the above does not correct the problem, go to step 7.
7. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
8. Replace the pump.

this is what Whirlpool says, but we have found that this doesnt always work.

Flashing f- 21

F21 means “long drain” – takes too much time for the water to get out. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not clogged or kinked. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects. Check the electrical connections to the pump and make sure the pump is running. Check for foreign objects inside the pump. If it doesn’t help, replace the pump. To clear the display press PAUSE/CANCEL two times. Good luck.
