Kenmore Refridgerator model 10656566400 Ice Maker not working

The water valve for the ice maker works when I swap the water connector to the ice maker solenoid and activate the water dispenser. I disconnected the ice maker water tube and blew air through it so it is not frozen. The optic sensor flashes 2 times and then pauses and repeats (is this a vault code and if so is there somewhere I can get the codes descriptions?). When I close the flapper door it remains a steady red.
I pulled out both sides of the optic sensors and cleaned the lenses. The temperature is set to 0 degrees but the ice maker still does not work. How can I test the emitter and receiver boards. The connector on the left side (P/N 2220398) has 4 wires (black, brown/white, Orange/black, white) and the right side component (2255114) has 7 wires (White, Yellow, black/white Brown, Brown/white, orange, black). How can I jump them to test the boards?

My Kenmore ColdSpot (ame model) is also giving me a flashing code that indicates that there is a problem witht he optics. However they are not blocked or iced over. I got the code desciption from behind the kick plate grill on bottom near water filter.

The two blink signal indicates that the level sensor is blocked. If you hold the little door that senses the ice bin inward or closed since it flips out when you open the door, you should get a solid light on most models. So if you are getting this solid light, you sensor is working properly. If you close the little door and the lamp continues to blink, then your sensor is at fault. If it is solid light, then your freezer may not be cold enough. Check the temperature of the freezer.

Fix icemaker

Start at the water valve at back of unit and work your way to the ice maker. Make sure the hose at the back of the frig isn't block. Also that the arm on the maker is down and in the on position. If all this checks, then go back to the solenoid that turns the water on and off to the ice marker.

I have a Kenmore side by side model # 25358672894. i have water flow through the door dispensor but no water to ice maker. i checked the fill tube and it is not frozen. the temp in freezer is 0 degrees....

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It's on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

Not getting water to the ice maker on my Roper refridgerator.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

No ice from icemaker model kenmore number of fridge is 106.56152500

Is the freezer cold enough? Should be close to 10 degrees.
Is there water or ice in the ice mold? If not put water in it and see if it dumps the ice after it’s frozen. If there is ice, lift the cut off arm and let it drop to see if it will start.
If it does dump the ice but don’t refill with water.

Ice maker won't send water to unit. Solenoid is good

Make sure the fill tube where the water goes into the ice mold is not full of ice. Your old valve may have been leaking and it will freeze in the fill tube. Other than than maybe start the ice maker working by filling it with water and see if it dumps and refills.
You can swap the wires on the inlet valves and try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker letting you know the valve works and the line is clear.

A strainer before the inlet valve can also get stopped up restricting flow.

Ice maker not working

I recently had trouble with both my water dispenser and my ice maker. I determined that my filter was clogged, so I replaced it. That fixed the water dispenser but the ice maker still wasn't working. I investigated further and found that the water inlet tube was frozen solid. Aparently, when the filter was clogged the water came in so slowly that it froze before it got to the icetray. I tried pouring hot water over the inlet tube to melt it and it mostly worked, but there was still some ice in the tube further back where I couldn't reach. Finally I defrosted the freezer so all the ice could melt and turned it back on and now it works great! Hope this might help.
