Blue haze/blob near the center and lower right corner.

Sony WEGA 50'' DLP, not sure of year. Blue haze/blob appears on tv in the middle and bottom right corner. Shape is not the same everytime, and slowly changes and relocates around the middle of the screen. Replaced lens, no change. Depending on what show is playing it can and can't be seen. However, say if the screen is showing snow, you can clearly see the blue areas. Over faces also it is very evident.

Blue spots on Sony WEGA KDF60XS955

Thats caused by a bad optical block. The cost of that repair will almost always be greater than replacing the TV.Thats a very common issue with alot of Sony DLP models which suffered that optical block issue with the blobs of color usually blue or green

In the lower right hand corner of the screen on my sony grand wega 60in lcd tv there is a blue haze about 4in by 4in trianguler in shape working its way toward the center. what's up?

You have a Optical Block that is bad. I would call Sony at 1800-222-SONY and see if the would assist you in the cost of the repairs.
Hope this helps,

Blue haze in picture

Sorry guys the news is not good. The Optics or light engine must be changed or rebuilt. The lamp has destroyed a filter (glass element) inside. You must remove the optics and send it out to be rebuilt. Not a do it yourself type repair.

Blue haze consuming my sony grand wega

It is definitely a bad optical block. Sony was offering an optical block replacement under warranty until June of this year, but it has ended now. Ballpark estimate is $700 to $1000 to have the optical block replaced.

i guess its the old magnet problem maybe in fluke u or someone in your house had taken a magnet around your tv try fixing it with a magnet by moving the magnet again around the screen and using the same old technique by moving the magnet slowly on the defected area and then quickly taking it off
