The monitor is not receiving a video signal, normally this is a sign that the inverter is bad. There are some places that can repair this for about 80.00 plus shipping both ways. Unless your really attached to it 17" lcd's new are about $165.00
If your are good at disassembly and reassembly the monitor comes apart fairly easy and the inverter runs about $ 20-$35 .
