Re: Linksys BEFW11S4-RM 4 port wireless router
This is an old router. Look at the power light. You must have a STEADY power light. RESET the BEFW11s4 by pushing the reset button for 30seconds. Unplug the power of the BEFW11s4 for 30 seconds. Connect pc to port 2 or 3. pc should get an ip of 192.168.1.x. If you are getting this ip that means that the pc is already detecting the router.

Absolutely. You seem to have answered the question yourself. There is no way that the router change can affect the performance of the mouse .
1. try this mouse now with another port in the computer.
2. Try this mouse in a different PC
Atleast that you isolate teh problem. This change in router has ntohing to do with a wired mouse's functions.
1. Make sure the wireless is disabled when you're doing that. It might cause a confusion between the wired and wireless connection.
2. Try to plug it at other ports (1-4)
3. Try another known working ethernet or CAT-5 cable.
4. Set the laptop's LAN card's speed to 10-hald duplex.
Your wired network adapter will talk to a wired router without a driver for the router on your computer. Your wireless adapter likewise will talk to your wireless router without a driver for the wireless router on your computer. Your wired and wireless adapters however do require drivers and the wireless adapter can require configuration. Please provide the manufacturer and model of your computer so I can learn about your wireless adapter and we can work to get it connected to the router.
Do you currently have your router connected to your internet service providers connection and do you have another wired or wireless computer successfully using this device to access the internet?
To setup your router first check.. Connect the Broadband modem to the computer using an Ethernet cable without the router installed and make sure that the Internet connection is active. If it is not, contact your Internet Service Provider. If it can go online, to setup connection.. Step 1: Connect the Broadband modem to the router’s WAN or Internet port. Step 2: Connect the computer to any available numbered port (1, 2, 3 or 4). NOTE: In this example, we’ll connect the computer to port number 3. Step 3: Make sure the power adapter is plugged to an available power outlet. Step 4: check if you are able to go online wired.. if not your router has to be configured first, config your router by running the setup cd and that would fix your problem..
let me no know in case if you have any problems ...
