Re: screen went black
Hi this is the way how to
examine what's wrong with your LCD monitors. Power on both CPU and monitor. You
have to check that if you can see the image on the screen or not by shining a flashlight
into the screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a
look very closely. If you can see the icons or any image, there will be a minor
problem. This is because of the lamps inside. Some of them were broken and it is
very easily replaced. If you cannot see anything on the screen, there'll be some
problems with inverter board. You might go get technician to do fix it.

A couple of things to check. First make sure that all the connections are in place. That is, the one at the PC and the one on the back of the monitor. Second - Make sure that the video card is seated correctly in the PC. Third - Replace the monitor cable. Fourth - Check with another monitor, if possible.
Swap monitor connections to determine if one of the monitors is not working. If one is not working you probably have an internal problem. If power led responds to the off-on button but no picture is seen, the inverter has likely blown a fuse. Replace the fuse and resolder the leads on all 6 inverter transformers or the fuse might blow again. Monitor Mike
