ZEBRA 105SL : PRINTING PROBLEM

I am using Zebra 105SL daily and noticed something "weird"while printing large quantities of labels at once. For example, if I need like 1-20 identical labels, they all come out one after another without any problems. If I only try to print a larger quantity, like 300-500 identical labels at once, the printer starts to produce quiet many blank labels. It occurs without a pattern, it can be 10 wel printed labels and 1 blank, and then 20 well printed labels again. But sometimes you get every second label blank. It's huge loss of paper and time wasting. Can someone help me out with this matter?

when printing a large number of labels, labels are generated as expected and then at some random point, they print randomly, some with partial data, some with incorrect data. the printer is set up as a network printer

after printing one label the printer starts blinking and does not print again until i switch on and off why?

  • Anonymous Mar 12, 2014

When printing large quantities of labels (100 or more), the printer will print a blank label for a label randomly. For example, you will see label number 42, then 43, then blank, then 45.. Label 44 is blank. Yes, the labels are being printed with sequential numbers. We have noticed that if we send only about 30 labels at once, there's no problem. The problem follows no other pattern that we have found. The problems I have read here are not like this one. Zebra Technician says nothing is wrong on the printer. The software programmers say there is nothing wrong with their software. Any suggestions?

Zebra 105sl printer labels print too small

There are 3 different DPI Printheads for Zebra printers if you print a label set up for a 200 DPI Printhead on a printer with a 300 DPI Printhead installed it will be about 66% of the size.

How can you configure Zebra printer 105sl (over network) to print labels in IE and have a regular printer from reducing the document size from a thin client?

I have this issue whenever I set my default printer to a label printer. Use the other printer as the default and set to the zebra only when you need it.

Can we make 300 dpi Zebra 105 SL printer to print on label expecting 203 DPI, Any configuration setting?

Krishan, sorry there are no settings that will allow you to do this on the 105SL. If the printer code expecting a 203 DPI printhead and you have a 300 DPI Printer then your label will print out much smaller then normal.

If you are printing labels with a label printing package (such as Seagull Bartender for Windows) then all you need to do is to install the proper printer driver. If you have your printer attached to a system that is sending "straight" ZPL (Zebra Printing Language Code) then your out of luck.

Hope this helps

We have a Zebra 105SL thermal printer. When I print to it with any application, the data light comes on, but it doesn't print. It has ribbon, media, calibrated, no error lights

The data light indicates that the printer is receiving data. Hold the cancel key for 10 seconds while powering on. This will print printer configuration. Use to troubleshoot. If the data or format is wrong it will not print as you send data. Make sure you are using the 105SL printer driver. To test the printer functionality you can go to www.teklynx.com and download a demo copy of labelveiw, select the 105SL printer and try to print a simple label. If you can print with labelveiw then it is not a printer problem. Double check your driver and label format.

Zebra 105SL The printer was printing labels just fine on Friday. Monday morning it won't print anything. I send a document to it for printing and it just sits there doing nothing. Everything is connected...

Go to "Printers and Faxes" or "Devices and Printers" and try printing a test page by right clicking on the icon and choosing printer properties. This will better define if the problem is something wrong with the printer or connection OR if it is a software issue.

Increasing Speed on Zebra 105sl

If you are refering to print speed, from the label format, press F5 to bring up the LABEL & SETUP PROPERTIES. Click on LABEL OPTIONS and print speed will be the first choice.

If you are refering to how fast data is sent to the printer, then that depends on the connection to the PC and whether you are using true-type fonts or not.

Hope that helps !
