I hope for you that the realignment works...cause if not it means the laser unit will need to be replaced.

laser might need realignment i think..

if DVDs alone is not reading then this must be the problem.

if any other internal fault means even the CDs wont read..

    thank you sir

    good luck

dont forget to read the solutions

How old is this unit?

The laser might need realignment, especially if the unit is old or has been moved frequently.

It may still read conventional CDs since the laser tracks differently to read DVDs.

It could just be a dirty laser, though. You can try a cleaning disc and see if you get better results.

My dvd player stopped loading dvds. It will say "loading" for a while before it just says "disc error". It's definitely not a problem with the dvds though, I've tried a few and they all...

This is a Laser Pickup Assembly issue, the pladder motor that the dvd sits on is not working and has become defective, the only solution is replaced the machine for a new one, not cost effective for repair.

My united will not play. when loading makes load noise, spins then stops. eather says no disc orun known. tryed a lot of dvds. did show that it was loading but that has stoped also

Sounds like a hardware problem.
This is typical when one one of the DVD mechanism (motor fails, laser can't track, etc).

Although you can try some sort of DVD cleaning disk, or better yet
if mechanically inclined you can open it up and clean the DVD head and motor mechanisms manually.
Search here, or on the web on the steps to open up and clean them.

If it's still under warranty, call manufacture technical or customer support for a possible replacement.

DVD tray makes noise when it rotates

This noise can be casued by two things:

1) The tray is not completely in the loaded position and the "clamper" is rubbing. Replace the loading belt and the loading sequence will complete and the noise should stop.

2) The "CD table" that is part of the spindle motor assembly has slipped a bit. This will make the CD/DVD ride too low and strike the lower tray support. This will require that the table be "re-aligned" to the proper height which may not be possible on your model without special measurement equipment. The height is critical to proper operation of the unit.

Try replacing the load belt first and report your results.

Thanks,
Dan

My DVD player wont read a disc

There are several things you can do to try and solve your problem: Make sure that the DVDs you try to play are encoded for the right region. Make sure that the transportation lock (usually a plastic screw on the bottom of the unit), is not engaged. Turn off player with disc inserted, unplug temporarily from wall outlet, plug back in and turn back on.
