Downgrading from vista to xp ( I have disk ) on h p dv6500 dv6504au A M D turion64 x2 Can you help please.

You download GPARTED live cd, boot it usually by pressing the boot key at startup, select cd drive, delete the paritions on the hard drive, or if you want to keep you're vista, resize it, then once thats done, boot from the XP disc, and select the empty partition format it, then install to it. Done.

I m lookin for installing dual boot with Vista ultimate n Windows 7, gotta dvd for both, any help??

If you wan to fresh install, here you can do ::
Try following steps.
Restart the PC, Press Delete for some time
It will lead you to BIOS setting
Go to the Boot Priority menu,
select DVD ROM as First Boot and HDD as Second Boot

Now Insert your Operating system CD: Vista Ultimate
Restart the PC and when screen says " Press any key to continue"
hit "enter"
Let the CD load and then select New Installation
Format the drive by pressing L, and then create three partition , 100 GB for Vista Ultimate, 100 GB for Windows 7 and rest for data.
Hit enter and let os Load

After complete OS loading, system will restart and again you will see " Press any key to continue"
DO NOT PRESS ANY KEY.

OS will boot and register it with microsft. create login and then remove OS DVD,

Insert the Windows 7 DVD
restrt the system, Hit enter when it says " enter any key to continue"
select new installation, point to the earlier created partition for windows 7 installation
proceed with same procedure.
after complete installation, when you restart the pc, you will find both the BOOT entries at booting.
do not forget to load device drivers on both the OS.

Enjoy!

My os is japanese character

You can only change the language of Vista if you have Vista Ultimate
or Enterprise.

With Ultimate, you can download the language packs for free.
Just open Windows Update, choose "view available updates",
and check the language pack you want.

Afterwards, from Control Panel (categories view), just choose
"Change display language" under "Clock, Language and Region".
Pick your language, log off, log on, and done.

If you have another version of Vista other than those two,
such as Windows Vista Home Premium,
you'll need to purchase a "full version" of Windows
Vista in your desired language and perform a "clean install" or
install it on a separate partition or drive (dual-boot).

Just boot from the installation cd. when prompted to repair or don't repair choose don't repair on the next step you'll asked to format the hardisk or leave the current partition. if you dont have any important data I recommend to format your hardisk. Backup yaour data before installing

I have Windows Vista Ultimate, my computer was running slow, so I decided to reinstall the OS. It boots with no problem and goes as far as setting up your computer. Then a window pops up stating windows...

Your missing the files that load the operating system. Put the vista disk back in, let it run and it will eventually ask if you want to setup or repair. Choose repair and then type "fixboot". That will fix your master boot record so the operating system can load.
