Lexmark Z23, over 6 years old, suddenly stopped printing.

Power light is on, steady, and will not turn off.
Paper feed light is blinking.
There is no paper jam visible.
It is connected to a 1-year-old iMac and when a print job is sent to the printer, the printing information window shows it is printing (or is in the print queue) but nothing is happening with the printer itself.
When the lid is raised (as if to change an ink cartridge) the print head holder does not move to the center)

- Z23 has a green light flashing 3 times consistently indicating that there is no paper, but nothing is jammed and there is paper. Help!- scarl100

- The power light is on steady. The paper feed light is on steady, but was initially blinking. The printer is totally unresponsive. My iMac Os10.2 shows the computer is communicating with the printer. I have unplugged all connections, reconnected, and checked for jams. There are none. Is there anything to be done for this Lexmark Z23 or is it a deep six? - Guest

check the cable first..and do a test page, if you can without the printer connected to anything.

then, if that all works, we can look elsewhere, no?
