Connect the Sansa to your computer using the supplied cable. Open up an explorer window. You'll see your Sansa either as a removable hard drive or as a Sansa, depending on the USB mode. Either way, navigate into it, then into the MUSIC folder. You can delete entire albums from here, or navigate into the albums and delete individual tracks.

If you open Windows Media Player, you should be able to access your mp3 player through that, and in turn, delete songs you don't wish to have on it.

you may have accidentially removed parts of the driver's firmware:
to replace it refer to procedure as described here:

Can an 8GB microSDHC card be used in my Sansa Fuze 4GB mp3 player
Actually, it sounds as if the card is working. The more you have on the card, the more free internal memory you'll need so it can build its media database. Remove the card, then delete some files from the internal memory to free up space. Then reinsert the card.

Deleting Songs, Photos, and Videos?
When I wanted to delete songs i just treated it like a USB stick, (if you drag the songs ontoto load them) then you can go into it to see what songs are on it, then just right click and press delete. Thats wat i did on mine and It worked fine i have an Sandisk e130. but just use it like u would a usb.
