Acer one with windows 7 ultimate fall into sleep mode

A laptop computer is typically set to conserve battery power. One of the common settings called standby, sleep mode or hibernation turns off power to the screen and the laptop itself after a preset time limit passes without any mouse or keyboard activity. It can be inconvenient for the computer to shut down while you're working on an open page or during a download. Change the setting if you don't want your laptop to going into automatic shutdowns

Turn the laptop computer on with the power button if it's not set to turn on upon opening. Allow the system to boot up. Open the panel for adjusting the sleep settings. This varies among the popular versions of Windows operating systems. To change the sleep mode setting on a laptop running Windows XP, click the "Start" button, and click the "Control Panel" selection. Choose the "Performance and Maintenance" selection, and click on "Power Options." Click the "Power Schemes" tab, and click the drop downs next to "Turn Off Monitor," "Turn Off Hard Disk," "System Standby" and "System Hibernates." Select "Never" for each drop down in both the "Plugged in" and "Running on Battery Power" columns. Click the "Hibernate" tab and click to remove the check mark in the box next to "Enable Hibernation." To change the sleep settings on a Windows Vista laptop, click "Start," "Control Panel," "Systems and Maintenance" and "Power Options." Then click "Change Plan Settings" under the currently established plan. Click on the "Advanced Settings" tab and select the "Never" option on the "Sleep," "Sleep After," "Hibernate After," "Display" and "Turn off Display After" drop downs. Click the "OK" and "Save Changes" buttons to confirm the settings. To change the sleep settings on a laptop running Windows 7, click the "Start" button, choose "All Control Panel Items," select "Power Options" and click "Edit Plan Settings." Click the drop downs for "Turn off the Display" and "Put the Computer to Sleep." Choose "Never" for both and click the "Save Changes" button.

My display screen goes on and off

I find sleep mode nothing but trouble, eventually corrupts window files over extended use, go into power options, go to stand by and select never and click apply, next go to hibernate "top right" and click, make sure the check box is clear, if not! remove check and click apply and restart your laptop.

Black screen on start up

Hello,

When you turn on the laptop and get a black screen, does it sound like the computer is still running(are any lights lit up etc) ? If so, then you possibly have a bad video display. I would highly recommend visiting a repair shop or contacting the manufacturer of our laptop for service repairs.

If the laptop is plugged up to any other display, or TV , unplug it and reboot.

If it does not sound/look like your laptop is actually turning on then you may have a power issue. You can try some of the following tips to see if it resolves your issue.
-Leave the laptop charging for 10 minutes then try and turn it on. It may not be charged up enough.
-Try a new power cable
-Try a new battery
-Try a different wall to charge the laptop.

The computer went to sleep and will not wake up. Screen is black and unresponsive

This is very common for windows. It's not always compatible with the sleep function of a computer. Hold down the power button until it turns off. Turn it back on. Go to Start-->Control panel-->Power options (under system & maintenance in standard view). In Vista you will have a listing on the side that says "change when the computer goes to sleep." Change it to never. Other versions of windows are a little different, but just find that option and set to never.

Intermitently, my screen goes dark, but the

1.)It could be your video card
2.) Yes it is expensive for a laptop
3.)I would first check your screen setting for turning off display...

If you are using vista:

-Right click on your desktop then choose personalize
-Then click screensaver
-On bottom click on "change power settings..."
- On the left click on "choose when to turn off the display"

Your monitor can turn off without your computer being in sleep mode.

What shld i do if asus laptop is in zzz mode and it wont turn on?

Try this simple solution- press on the power button for a very long time, until the laptop stops working.

After the computer shuts down, turn it on again and look for the sleep settings, sometimes the computer is too eager to turn off the display. You'd be surprised how many computers have troubles waking from their sleep (maybe they need to call the charming prince). Anyhow, check the settings for the computer's sleep. I always ensure that my laptop won't independently fall asleep, always by button.

Theres no display on screen

by shutting the screen you have activated power saving followed by hibernation.when you lift screen and press power a screen appears telling you what programs are currently running and your icon to enter.by removing battery you have (computer term) illegally shut down, possibly with programs running, which incidently is a good way to loose sys32. which would require a repair or install.
Not ur case as of yet.restart ur pc and press f 8 about 4 seconds later .black screen with options appear ,navigate to start windows with last good configuration.windows will restart with last good settings .
if you choose to go asleep whilst a program is running you can configure windows not to go into power save mode or hibernation, turn off hd,turn off pc etc .
if you right click mouse in any space on desktop, select properties,screensaver,power.....you can change settings there to suit.
