SANYO TV VOLUME CONTROL PROBLEM

We have a Sanyo CE32LD6-B and it has a problem with the volume control. Trouble is, the warranty expired one week after the 12 month guarantee! The tv ignores volume increase/decrease from the tv remote, satellite remote and the buttons on the set including the stand-by button. It will only work by switching it off/on at the wall. It has happened occasionally throughout the last year but now has done it 4 times in 24 hours.

I have Sanyo TV. This problem started after I got into a sub menu with choices of volume lock and channel lock. I accidently set it the volume lock to ON. I could not go to that menu again. It seems that this TV has the feature of securing the volume so that the kids can't change it. Any way to go to the locks sub menu?

We purchased an item on 11/12/15 has a 12 month guarantee - it has stopped working how do we get a replacement

Is the date a typo? If you bought in 2015 the guarantee is expired. If you meant 2016 then the company you bought it from should replace it.

Give me example of complaining letter about guarantee policy

That's perfectly acceptable. You get a total of 12 months of warranty. If the new toaster dies after nine months, then you'll have gotten 18 months of service for your money.

The tv started turning on and off on its own. It's been doing it now for about 12 hours. We've only had this tv for about 3 weeks.

This sounds exactly like what I've told two other members about--a major issue in so many Samsung TV's that Samsung is still paying to have them repaired years after even extended warranties are expiring.
It's a power capacitor--unplug it ASAP for sure, because, as I'm sure we're all aware, TVs aren't made to turn on-and-off again, so when they start doing it on their own, the problem gets progressively worse until the problematic part just 'breaks'.
This applies with this problem, which I've seen on this forum reported in Samsung TVs (which I was aware of already), as well as LGs, and now your Sanyo. Wow--you'd think that TV manufacturers would be making enough $$ to get 'progressively better and better' with each unit sold, but it seems the opposite is happening right now, with newer big-screens. Tonight I've seen LCDs, LEDs, and even Plasma owners reporting this identical problem.
So, take it back, ASAP, too--I can't think of any retail seller where the warranty would have expired by now, and sometimes it's also true that standard 1-year manufacturer's warranties actually revert back to the manufacturer after only 1-month--which means you have maybe a week to get yours back into the tender-loving arms of the salesman who sold it to you, too, before you'd otherwise be paying potential shipping costs to get it to the manufacturer's centralized repair center (somewhere in the States, too, we hope).
Sorry this free advice couldn't be any better--maybe Googling some other TV makes and models for the online reviews would assist in avoiding this issue in the future--I find myself doing it all the time, for every electronics purchase over $10, these days.

Sanyo DP32649 works fine for a few minute, then sound goes off. turning the TV off for a moment & then back on restores the sound. But sometimes this will happen ever few minutes for the length of the...

I have the exact same problem. It's a volume control issue. For me, when I turn my TV on and have it on low volume, it works fine (but sounds somewhat distorted). But once I turn the volume up to normal levels, the speakers crackle and then go out. I opened my tv and checked my speakers, and they were perfectly fine; not blown or anything. As well, the audio processor and circuitry didn't appear burned at all.
This used happened every few months for 30min or and hour at a time. Then, about 2 months ago, it happened again, and ever since then it still hasn't worked properly. The only way I got around this was by buying a cheap 2.1 speaker system, and connecting it to the audio output on the TV. Or you could buy a speaker bar or home theater system. I believe this issue has to do with problems with the circuitry in the audio amplifier, and there's not much you can do except add external speakers, or contact Sanyo if you still have an active warranty.
Depending on where you bought your TV (such as from walmart), its possible that the LCD panel was produced by Sanyo, but the electronics were done in China. Walmart does this with nearly every TV they sell.

Took it in for an oil change and every few weeks bringing back for more work.

The oil change probably had nothing to do w/ it. The new t-stat may have been sticking, and causing it to over heat, and pop the head gasket.

14 month old Prima 36 inch lcd tv takes 2+ hours before on.

If you purchased the warrenty extra above the cost of the tv Sears will allow you to purchase another extended warrenty. Contact them and let them know your extended warrenty ran out and you would like to buy another. I would leave out the part about the tv being broken.
