Question about Denon AVR-2802

2 Answers

Inert Unit I own an AVR-2802 that was working fine until I lightly tapped on the side of the unit. It went dead. No display. No Standby Light; the unit in completely inert. The fuses are OK. The standby transformer is putting out and the voltage regulator is functional. The control IC on the display board was replaced. The Power Switch was also checked. Any suggestions? Any idea where a Service Manual can be obtained?

I know that in the back of the manual for my 4802 there's an instruction on how to reset the microprocessor. I'm not sure that it would fix either problem but definitely worth a try. Find your manual and see which buttons it is to hold ("Direct" and "Stereo" on my 4802) while plugging in the AC cord. This clears all of the settings, so you'll have some programing to do, but if it fixes it, it would be worth it. Good luck as I would be devastated if that happend to me!

I checked the speaker connection and the connectiion seems to be perfect. Is there any lock in the system? Can someonetell me how to release the lock.

No power output or display.green standby light flashes.

Sounds like either a blown mainpower fuse or the thermal fuse for the power transformer. If the protect circuit was kicking in, the display would light up, but then turn off with a red blinking light. the green light with no display means the transformer is not getting power.

Unit is in protect mode. Most likely cause of protect activating is blown channel (shorted output transistors). I work for a Authorized Denon repair center in Michigan if Shipping to Michigan is economical let me Know kstahl65@att.net

Power comes on for only about 4.5 seconds, then shuts off.

1-speakers terminals are short circuit----turn it off and correct speakers terminals.
2-blocking of ventilation holes of the set -------turn it off and let it cool down and make a good ventilation around ventilation holes.
3-the unit is operated at continuous high power condition------turn it off and let it to cool down and then turn it on.

DENON AVR 2802 (NO SOUND)

If "Digital" sign blink on front panel, it means DSP do no start properly. If DSP do not start, main UC mute audio. Change IC, AT49LV002-70TC (IC 817 ) at DSP board (Denon P/N: 262 3010 006).
