the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You will find the drivers you need there!
Just select one of the 3 V2000, the one YOU have, then select your OS, download all the drivers you need.
Good luck to you!

Consider trying the following:
Before you do anything, set a restore point. Do this before installing any drivers or making changes to any files. This way you can roll back to that version of your OS, and without any harmful effects to your PC. Also, try not to do anything else after the restore and before a rollback. You don't want to lose track of driver downloads, installs, etc. Download any files you may need BEFORE your restore. Just don't install until you do the restore.
First of all, there are a ton of people looking for a similar fix for this issue. I have one that may work, and have posted a link at the very end that may assist. That link will provide you some instructions on how to edit a file on your computer that may fix the issue, but since I did not write it, I will only link to it.
Some notebooks have audio that works just fine when using Windows XP, but even after an upgrade to Windows 7 & using Windows 7 drivers, the audio still doesn't work.
This is not so much an issue with the driver or OS, as it is with the need for an additional driver to be downloaded and installed. It is called Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture Bus Driver. Consider it like the fitted sheet on your mattress. You need this before actually making your bed (computer) before adding the additional layers (drivers, software applications that control the audio, etc.).
That really bad parallel said, try downloading it directly from HP's website at this link.
Try the XP drivers from the HP website, according to your exact model number. I found the following, but there are several variations on your V2000 series notebook.
If that still doesn't work, do a Windows Update and see if Microsoft can offer you a driver, which may resolve the issue too.
