Question about Audio Cards

1 Answer

Install an Audigy 2

I bought a Gateway 5654 the motherboard is a MCP61PM-AM (HT 2000) and I want to put an Audigy 2 sound card on it because it has a firewire... I need the firewire for my TASCAM FW1082... Or maybe you have a suggestion of a sound card that I can use that will not disable the firewire that's on the motherboard.

I am not sure if you used the Creative Labs drivers or not but unfortunately those drivers are not compatible with the Audigy 2 SZ SB0350 sound card. When it comes to the drivers for this sound card, you need to use the gateway drivers which are available here.

Disable the realtek from bios, then uninstall its drivers.
Reboot
If Soundblaster is not auto detected go to Device Manager and click on menu "Search for new hardware". After your card is detected, install specific drivers
Reboot
and that should do the trick.

I have a creative audigy Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Sound Card and Creative 7.1 surround sound speakers. When I was using XP all 7 speakers worked perfectly. Now with my newer Vista machine,...

Uninstall all sound drivers for the card. Delete all folder and use search to locate everything related to the sound card. Remove card , turn comp on w/o card. Turn off reinsert card.
Should fix it.
Vista has many, many issues like this.
If you have more types of sound listed in "SOUNDS" delete all but Audigy.
Re-install drivers AFTER you get ALL NEW VISTA UPDATES>
