Question about Motorola Mobility V262

V262 constantly beeps "low battery" alert

My Motorola V262 beeps a "low battery" warning almost constantly. Even after an overnight charge, it will show full battery until one call is made, then low battery. The battery is not low, as it will go a full day or two just beeping away, through call after call - I have never in three years had the battery actually go dead on me. After power down and back up, battery indicator shows higher charge - until the phone is used once again, when alert resumes.

Is there some way to reset the phone so it has a better idea of what the battery's capacity is? Or is my best advice to "get a new phone"? I'll do that eventually but this phone otherwise serves my purposes well.

Thanks for your help.

Same problem.  Motorola V3.  Battery works great and lasts for a long time.  If its a battery problem, it sure doesn't act like it.  The phone simply continiously tells me I have low battery.  It will say low battery for days before it actually goes dead.  Everyone on this site keeps saying change the battery.  Battery life has not diminished though.

The phone started doing this a few months ago.  The meter worked great and wouldn't tell me low battery until just before it was going to die.

I would think the phone could be recalibrated or something.  Should be a simple solution somewhere out there.

I have v262, the problem sometimes is the contacts where the charger and phone gold connections meet. carefully inspect where they meet when charging, and remove any debris from them with help of a small pin or a dry toothbrush, but gently especially with the charger, because the plastic sometimes breaks. No big problem while cleaning, but make sure
there is no debris in contacts.

That batt is almost dead, had a similar problem. No tricks just replace it. Or try charging using a universal charge where you remove the batt and charge it seperately

Is the battery lithium -ion? If not, you have an older generation of battery.

Having mentioned that, some batteries need an introductory "conditioning period". Continue your excercise of charging and draining (dont drain too too low) and hopefully you will start seeing some decent longer lasting charges.

Hope that helps!

that is wierd - you can try the first solution to have it flashed, but 30% that's the answer, somehow your lcd probably burnt out so a simple replacement is required - it would cost about $30-40 for the lcd and the installation

Your battery has had it. You can get a new online for only a few dollars. From what I've seen from alot of the Razr phones the beeping it as just as you were saying. When the battery is dead or does not have enough power to do the basic functions it will beep. The only difference is that, even if it is turned off they will still beep because it has a low battery. have you tried a different battery.
