Fan runs on most of the settings, including continuous, but don't hear condensor (don't know if you should) and no water is collected. Temperature in lower level room may only be 50-60 degrees.
The 800 number for warranty service (purchased less than 6 months ago) gives me 1 service number which is no longer doing fedder units.
What do I do now?

I have the similiar problem with the Fedders 30 pint unit. The compressor kicks on and then off and produces a quart of water in 24 hours. I bought it new from Walmart about 8 months ago....I called the Fedders company - and it seems they are in bankruptcy? The automated number says to call 800-635-6151 but that seems to be a number for those filing a claim against them. What are we to do with a unit that still should be under warranty?
Frustrated.
