Question about Denon AVR-2307 Receiver
First of all sorry for my english,i aprecciate your time in reading this, im having a problem with a denon 2308 i can only get sound from my speakers in stereo mode or direct mode, i have all the speakers connected the right way, when trying to use dolby pro logic, or dts, or any other dsp modes i cant get any sound from the receiver but turning the volume all the way up at maximum position then i can hear reproduction at those modes but with a very very low sound, do i have a defective unit?, i tried the factory reset process but with any luck problem stays the same, i think it has something to do with the dsp processor , what can i do? i would really apreciate some advice.

HDMI is a High Definition Multimedia Interface and has the capability to transmit both AUDIO and VIDEO all in one cable. Your setup right now is transmitting 2 audio frequecys (L/R stereo RCA and HDMI) into the Denon inputs. Not necessary! I would recommend eliminating the red/white audio cable from the direct tv box to the Denon.
After doing such, your receiver should be able to process audio/video signals appropriately. REMEMBER to unplug all POWER CORDS before reconnecting any speaker/audio/video cable, as it may cause a small electrical surge and fry a micro component in your system!

IT IS ALWAYS BEST TO CONNECT ANALOG AUDIO IN ADDITION TO THE OPTICAL, COAXIAL OR HDMI AUDIO CONNECTION. IF USING OPTICAL OR COAXIAL CONNECTIONS BE SURE TO CONFIGURE IT IN THE RECEIVERS DIGITAL ASSIGNMENT AREA IN SETUP.
ALSO, ON THE FRONT OF THE RECEIVER IS AN INPUT MODE BUTTON, PRESS THIS BUTTON UNTIL AUTO IS DISPLAYED
