Question about Telex H-531 Headset

Headset not working

I'm wondering why my headset isn't working. Skype test call picks up nothing from my test recording with this headset. It used to work fine...didn't use it for over a year...also got a new laptop. Would there be a problem with Windows XP?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Could be a wire is broken on it. Do you still have the manual? Call the help line listed in it.

Skype not working

Sir,

Click this link for more information........

Also Check........

On a PC with external speakers and also a headset with microphone. Windows XP is configured so that standard audio are external speakers and standard microphone is the headset. Skype is configured to use the headset for audio in and out.

This way one can listen to sound from the PC and from MP3 players through external speakers and if there is a call to make or take, this is going through the headset.

But now there is the problem that the noise level for the headset is too low. Increasing volume has no effect on the headset, it only affects the external speaker's volume.

Now the solution: Going to the control panel and opening the sound setting, go to the audio tab. The external speakers are selected as default. Just temporarily select the headset and then click on volume just below. You can now set the volume for the headset, click OK and click cancel (!!!) on the sound control dialog box. This way the external speakers remain as default output.

Skype-->Tools -> Options -->Sound Devices-->audio device/USB/etc Audio Device (do NOT use windows default device)
You can also tick the ring pc speaker check box as this is a good backup to alert you even
if the main speakers are off or turned down.

Windows:
Start-->Control panel-->Sound and Audio devices
On the audio tab set the default playback device to your main soundcard(AC97/Audio-chip/add-on-adapter), etc.
Your installed audio device must be present there.
If not, reinstall audio device

thanks
good luck

New user with Blue Parrot B250XT headset. Using it on Skype and PC with iogear bluetooth dongle, all seems to be properly configured. Tested the audio quality from the microphone and it is garbled. ...

Hi there,
It seems that there is a physical problem with the microphone of that headset, It rarely happens but it does, even brand new units sometimes would have defects.
In windows there is a sound recorder feature that you can use so you can try recording your voice from the headset and check if it will be garbled.
you can also test the device on another equipment, Pair it on a mobile phone that is bluetooth capable and try calling or receive a call and check if the same result would appear.
If the same happens for all these steps, if you have just bought the headset you would want to bring it back and ask for a replacement unit or a refund and get a different model.
Hope this helps!

My recorder isnt working

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you are viewing this solution. Thank you for choosing FixYa to solve your problem. The recording feature of your electronic device isn't working properly? You should try turning the volume up on the microphone so it can pick up your voice clearer when talking. If you still can't playback any recordings, check the volume settings of your device on your computer. This is located in the Control Panel (Windows) and the System Preferences (MAC OS) applications of your computer. Go into your operating system's preferences and increase the microphone volume. You may also need to select your headset device as the default recording device (Windows) or the Output Device for recording (MAC OS). If you want my opinion, I think your headset device is not set as the default recording device. If you don't have a headset as the default recording device or output recording device, you can turn the volume up to the maximum setting and you still won't be able to record anything because the computer has another device (if any microphones are installed in the PC) as its default or output recording device. That's why it's important to check your system preferences for a headset to make sure it has the proper settings. I hope you understand this solution and that you can record audio on your headset. On my new Plantronics S12 Headset System, I hear a dial-tone (through the headset) when I press the headset button, but when I remove the phone and begin dialing nothing happens. I also tried a test call...

Unfortunately, the phone does matter. The S12 is designed to work with office style phones where the handset is just the mouthpiece, all other features located on the base. My suggestion is to get a phone of that style (you can find inexpensive ones at Wally world) and connect the headset following the instructions on this link for the Plantronics S12.

Good luck from Headsets Direct!

Microsoft LifeChat Microphone Headset Doesn't Work Properly

You should take your headset to another computer/location and see if your problem still exists.
That way you can eliminate problems with either your computer hardware or your outgoing internet connection (jitter).
I don't think that the CD will be necessary, since it is a USB device, which contains it's own little sound card and doesn't need any drivers.
If the problem persists and it turns out to be a problem with the headset, I would definitely return/exchange it.
