Need more information.... Is this a whole house unit, a window unit or what? Model #?

The breaker would be in your basement or wherever your breaker box is. If it's a 220 unit, one side could be kicked if whoever hooked it up used 2 seperate breakers (very unusual but it's been done).

Good luck!

If the blower fan in the furnace won't turn off, there is a tripped/blown limit. It's a safety. As for your condenser fan it could be a run cap or motor. Do yourself a favor and have a licensed HVAC contractor take a look. Find a NATE certified or ACCA member. You will find a much better more qualified contractor.

Sounds like we need to do some tracing of history over they years:

1.) How long has the heater NOT been used? (Has it been removed?)

2.) Since a heater draws considerable current-- It likely was on a separate circuit.
Could that circuit have been re-wired to some other load in the house?
Or could that circuit have tripped?- or blown a fuse?

3.) Has the switched remained connected to this circuit all this time?
Is the switch still turning on and off the light? (or did I just mis-understand that statement?)

Give us more information, so we can help you further.

The pilot light will stay lit. Go to turn on heater and stays on briefly and goes out The heater wont stay lit.

If the fan comes on and blows out the pilot light then you need a new furnace because that's the sign of a crack in the heat exchanger. Need a little better description. Do the burners light then the fan come`s on and then it goes out completely?

I have a 1991 ford and the airconditioning fan wont turn off even when i have turned the ignition off how can i disconect the fan

The easiest way to "dis-connect" heater/ac blower fan is to access the fuse panel and remove the fuse. Do any other accessories stay on with switch "off" or does the battery go dead over a short period?

My heater won;t work

check induction fan motor first...then check the rubber tube and the switch it ataches too. this switch should close if the induction motor is running...but also...it HAS to be open before start up.

Use the spell check and please restate your issue. Have you checked your air filter? Has the unit been serviced recently?

THE BURNING SMELL IS NORMAL. BEFORE HEATING SEASON OPEN ALL DOORS AND TURN THE HEAT UP AND LET RUN TILL ALL DUST IS BURNT OFF. IF BLOWER IS NOT COMMING ON NOW. THERE ARE 2 TIME DELAY RELAYS, AND ANOTHER RELAY FOR "FAN ONLY OPERATION". ALWAYS MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT THE PROBLEM BEFORE REPLACING AN EXPENSIVE MOTOR.
