Are you using a component cable (3 wires for video and 1 wire for audio)?

Check / replace the cable(s).

Panasonic DMR EH50. Picture is dominated by the colour pink. TV not affected.

Please check your Blue and Red component cables on both the recorder and your TV. One is probably loose.

Pixelated picture on all channels when viewing tv through xw380 recorder

If you are in a good reception area and your tv channels are coming fine it does look like a recorder issue, try another HDMI cord just to be safe, now when you tried in the shop was that through a different tv? if that is the case the input signal needs to be checked with another device.

TV plays fine when dvd recorder is off. As soon as you turn on recorder the picture gets snowy. It doesn't matter whether it is on video 1 or on the channel setting. I have changed all the cables, still...

It seems that you are keeping the recorder close to the TV set resulting distortion in the picture due to power supply hum,check by keeping it away from set if no change than check the reason of hum received from power supply of recorder by replacing electrolytic capacitors for leakage or proper shielding of power supply in side the recorder.

Can only tape clear pictures on DVD recorder from BBC1/BBC2 EX78E

Are you in the UK? Is the new DVD player compatible with TV in your area?

Some technical details like make and model would be helpful.

Record a digital channel while watching and analog channel

Take a red, white, and yellow AV cable and plug it from the AV out of the cable box to the red, white, and yellow In of the dvd recorder (change cable box to the channel you want to record). Then change your TV to the channel you want to view.

Have fun!

Suddenly cannot record DVD after years

Hi,

Apologies for the delay in response. Your concern was just brought to my attention.

To your recording, based on your second posting (and would appreciate corrective information where applicable), your system is:
  • Cable provider > Cable Decoder Box > Panasonic DMR-E75V > TV (equipment setup)
  • single coaxial cable > yellow, red & white > yellow, red & white (wiring setup).
With your indulgence, a couple clarifying questions:
  • to watch the Panasonic when you play DVDs, to what channel or source or setting must the TV be set to?
  • to record a TV program/channel, to what channel or source or setting must the Panasonic be set to?
  • what is the brand and model of your Cable Decoder Box?
Initially, pls try:
  • play any known good DVD disc/movie. power on the TV and set to watch said movie;
  • without changing anything on the TV, STOP the playing of the DVD;
  • try changing channel on your Cable Decoder Box's remote;
  • pls post back result(s); or
  • do the above steps again but before changing the channels on the decoder box's remote;
  • try changing/cycling through the different input/source of the Panasonic DVD;
  • again post back result(s).
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Change the AV settings on the DVD or TV to be the same format. Feeding AV into an AV-S gives B&W
