Re: hp dx2300 desktop
Most burner software will only allow one burn at time. It has nothing to do with how many drives you have. If you had two differant types of burner software you might be able to burn 2 DVD's at the same time.

Hi Daniel The problem is that you will have to configure one of the drives as Master and the other one as Slave . Check both the DVD and the hard drive .Near the IDE cable it should be another connector where you can see these letters on the DVD`s case Ma Sl and Cs .It is a 3 X 2 pins connector .) The hard drive should have these letters written on the label . Set Hard drive as Master ( usually it is Master ) and set your DVD as Slave .Put the HDD on the first IDE connector on the cable and the DVD on the second
It depends on the format that they were put on the DVD initially, to play these on a car stereo or CD player they may need converting to be recognised by a standard CD player.
In vista, you can use Windows Media Player to do this. I'd recommend copying them to your computer from the DVD by creating a folder called "radio shows" or similar in an area you can easily find again On the desktop is a good place.
Now open Windows Media Player and insert a blank CD into your CD/DVD drive (I'm assuming you have an optical drive that will burn cd's)
In the menu of Media player, you will see a tab called "burn", click on it and you get the option on the right of the pane to "create a burn list". Make sure the icon says audio cd
Now open the folder you just created called "radio shows", select the first shows you want to burn to cd and drag the file onto the area marked "drag items here to create a burn list"
As you add files the CD meter should start to fill up, when it is near full, you can click on "startburn" which is at the bottom of the pane. Your compilation should now burn to a cd, repeat for the next cd.
If you get stuck, under the burn tab, there is a help with burning guide
Check your recovery disc for the drivers. If you don' have the disc and checked the hp-compac website and googled for the driver, then just go to newegg or similar site and pick up a eternet card for around $7.00.
Does your internal speaker beeps or stops telling you there is no hd detection? Try to put another hd. If you are using Windows reinstall it. Does the red light blinks CHECK out the power chord to hd and all power connections from psu
Hello, I have had similar problems with that same motherboard in the past and have found that resetting the cmos (see users manual) or just taking the battery of the motherboard for a few minutes can solve this. CAUTION please remove the power lead on your tower before touching any components inside, and earth yourself first by touching metal.. as static discharge kills pc components..
Hope this helps.....
