Question about Epson LX-300 Matrix Printer

2 Answers

Constant beeping I've this Epson Lx300+, and when I switch the paperfeed lever, it starts beeping constantly without stopping. No matter what I do. I've pressed and held the buttons, switched off to restart. Only if you switch the flick to normal A4 paper does it stop, but I need to use the continuous paper setting. Can someone please help me?

The LX300+ models have issues with the wiring harnesses chaffing against the metal chassis. They will often randomly show a paper-out condition as well as beep, etc...

We use the LX300+ models with our products as a logging printer and I frequently have to add a sheath over the wiring in these locations to take care of this issue.

Beeping with no lights on normally means a dis-connected wire to the oil pressure sender. Check the connection to the oil pressure sender and the wire too for internal damage.

Constant beeping when turned

The freewheel lever isn't re-engaged properly. Try moving the lever to "free" then back to "drive" again. The lever moves a small micro-switch.

I have a sony vaio VGC desk top - it is probably 6 years old or so. I went to start it th other day and it sounds like its firing up and you can hear the fan working - then a constant beep noise starts...

The constant beep signifies that one or more RAM has(ve) been dislocated from the RAM socket(s). Try to re-assemble the RAM(s) into the proper position(s) and re-start your computer. I hope this will work the best for you.

Constant beeping, won't run

The beeping on shopriders usually means that the Main Control Box is faulty. It may also be caused by the Throttle Pot being out of neutral. This is a common promlem on this model of scooter as they use a Plastic throttle control lever instead of a metal one. Unfortunately, the plastic one's sometimes slip round slightly causing the above problem. Throttle pots can be very difficult to set to neutral without a multimeter so may be best left to you local dealer.

DOT MATRIX PRINTER PROBLEM

Hi, to perform a self-test on an Epson LX300 > start with the power switch off. Press LF/FF (middle switch), without releasing that button, power on the printer. If everything is ok it will print a sel-test page. To do a Hex Dump > start at power off, simultaneously press Font and the LF/FF buttons (left & middle buttons), then power on; to revert the printer to its factory default setting(s) > start in off position, press Font (left) button then power on. (Slightly different with an LX300+) Hope this works out for you. Cheers.
