On the ps3 my son was playing a game and it froze. after turning the console off and back on again the disc turn table will not work, even tho the symbol on screen suggest it is

Your disk drive has broken and will need to be repaired/replaced.

Do other games work? Try ejecting the disc, restarting the console and then inserting the game again.

you will probably have to send back to sony it just striaght up crashed

go to www.modchipman.com and repair sevices i used them when my xbox's were dead and they had the red ring and disc read error they can fix it in ten minutes i watched them install a new tray on mine. anyways they have your problems the disc error and freezing. $9.99 but your yellow light $99.99 the cost to see your ps3 run again.

Oh dear, i'm afraid to say you've got one of the 'fatal' error codes. The error you're encountering means there is a major problem with the blu-ray drive (you're PS3 is pretty much shot)...

The only thing you can do is ring Sony's tech support and arrange for a replacement console. If you are still under their one year warranty, you will get a replacement console free of charge

or if your console still works just dont play that game
if it keeps freezeing its becuse of the blu-ray driver :( you would need to try setting it to factory def's or if that does'nt work try rolling back the firmware upgrades........or just buy a xbox 360..

Short answer its a ..... to fix. Theres multiple lasers in the disc drive that actually read the disc. The blue laser failed. Replacing the drive wont work unless you can reprogram the eeprom chip (or is it nand?) At any rate its just better to upgrade to a new console.

what is wrong is when you got the blue ray set up it was probly set up diff.if it is not reading games or movies then you eye is scrached.the eye if u dont know is what reads everything

If you keep on getting this problem you will need to send it in to get it fixed, or you can actually readjust the laser from home.
To do this you can use a good repair guide.

NEVER EVER TURN YOUR SYSTEM OF WHEN YOU ARE PLAYING ONLINE AND THE GAME FREEZES!!!...

Just try to wait for 30 - 50 sec.
If that does not work than EJECT THE DISC AND THAN TURN OF THE SYSTEM, It has nothing to do with your PS3, Check your connection status and reset all your internet settings BUT NOT THE SYSTEM ITSELF.

If this still doesnt work than there's something wrong with the disc.
