Does it turn on at all? If it doesn't than the battery needs replacing. If it does turn on and it just doesn't play, than it either has a virus or there is an error in firmware and will have to be replaced or sent in for firmware upgrade.
This is a very common problem with the RCA Opal. You need to goto the RCA website and download the latest firmware. http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/product.aspx?product=408 Download the firmware from there. Plug in your mp3 player. (don't worry if it cant be found bye the PC it will when the firmware installs) After the mp3 player is plugged into the usb device of your pc install the newly downloaded firmware. And it should work fine.
You can try to reset the device by pressing the power button for about15 to 20 seconds..if that doesnt work I would recommend you to go tothe sandisk site to update the firmware on your device or you can contact sandisk to they can help you with updating the firmware on your device..Please follow the link below to get the firmware http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376

My MuVo was having problems until I installed the latest firmware.
The last firmware release was in August 2006. If you haven't updated the
player's firmware since then, try downloading it and installing Creative MuVo V200 Firmware 1.13.03.
