There is a problem with the machine interlock system
The interlock for the machine sends an error to the motor control unit if the door lock relay is not closed before a wash. Probable cause is that the door lock unit is faulty. Check if the machine closses the door before it indicates the error
More likel that the door latch or handle is broken.
Only way to open door now is to remove the top cover and force the door lock open from inside, you may possibly break the lock by doing this, but there is really no other alternative.
there is no emergency release.
two ways of opening door.#
break handle off and you can lever door peg with a small screwdriver
disconnect from mains
take top off. feel down to the door interlock and feel for the end of the door peg. push this sideways and you can sometimes release the door
The door interlock could be faulty. The only way to open the door if the door interlock is faulty is to remove the top of the machine, after turning it off at the wall and pulling the plug out of the socket, and locate the door interlock from the inside. There should be a metal "slide" which can moved back to release the door catch. The interlock could be warped from getting hot, which will make the slide almost impossible to move. Remove screws holding the interlock from the front panel and from the inside pry the interlock from the catch. Replace interlock.
