Question about Kitchen Ranges
I have a smeg hob. Only 2 years old. From time to time when its in use and when its not in use, the hob pilot light/spark starts to light. Its that flicking sound with the spark, and only when I turn the big hob on does it stop. I am worried there is a gas leak, but I dont smell any. Also it happens when I am not in the house so could be dangerous. Its just really strange the cooker tries to light itself almost.
please help. thanks a lot g
Relax. The problem is in the switch that is activated when you turn the gas on. It has either misaligned or broken. The gas itself is not involved. Generally, raising the top of the burner area will gain access to the switch and valve. Inspect and readjust or replace. Oh, and disconnect the electricity before touching the switch itself.
