SOURCE: Pioneer DV 220-KV need region free code

y DV-220KV-K, which is sold as a Multi Region DVD player has locked up on me. The following message comes onto the TV screen...

(Player's Region Setting)
<1> : Region
<2> : Region
<3> : Region
<4> : Region
<5> : Region
<6> : Region
Pick out any one of these!

The message remains on the screen ALL the time and I'm locked out of viewing anything. The remote is locked and so I cannot pick any of the region numbers!

Machine says "disc is encoded for a different region" and it does not play any dvs but only music cd's.

The DVD has got a setting related to the geographical area wise. Some regions use PAL as their default, some regions have SECAM, etc. Basically divided into 5 regions. Depending on the country of residence and country from where the DVD was purchased if different will show the same symptom as your. Find out which code is applicable threre and change it accordingly. But remember the max no of times you can change them is five times only.................sodeep

6. The DVD player will power off.
7. Power the DVD player on again. Check the Region-free status by playing a DVD.
