Hi blythkid

Your unit has probably popped a mains fuse in the power up down. If you are keen, disconnect the unit from the power and take the lid off. Check for any blown fuses and replace with EXACTLY the same type. If you are not sure what the correct fuse is... get back to me here and I will help you further. Good luck

Graeme

At least you got the HiFi hey... Black fuses often indicate power surge... good luck with everything mate. Just be sure to get a T (timelag) fuse to replace it. A FixYa rating for the advice would really help my profile. Hope it all works out for ya:)

    regards

Hi again, yup, you got it, that is the correct fuse. If it blows again when you fire it up, there may be further damage, of which you will need a meter to check a few things. Good luck

ahh,is Murphies law messin wit choo.... you should be able to get one from most electronic hobby stores. hehehe i got some here... In Australia... oh and i forgot to mention... 125v or 230v does not matter, it just has to be a Timelag and 6.3A Its the current and type thats important. The same fuse will blow on spec with 12v across it. Hope some dill brain parts clerk didnt click on that ... hhmmm, but then I did forget to tell yo... oh well.... let me know if you need a source, i can track something near to you....

Dead no power.. checked main fuse, worked fine last night, went to turn it on today and nothing. its a sx-316 not sx-315, I say this because it tells me this is not a valid model#, but sx316 is printed on...

Check the resistance of the primary on the main power transformer, (with power off) should be 1-3 ohms. If open you need a new transformer.

If good turn it on and check for ac voltage (120v) there.

Have a pioneer stereo model rx570 and the outputs were blown need a service manual .changed the outputs runs for 10-15 mins then they start to get real hot.

Remove the outputs completely and start up the unit. Measure each of the pads to ground with a DC voltmeter and report the values here. I suspect that you have either an open driver transistors. Using the voltage readings, I should be able to guide you further.

Pioneer VSX 915 powe off

Had a power surge last night and got the same problem. Unit wont power on and has a blinking blue light on standby button. I found the solution from the service manual for a similar model.

Hold down ENTER and ADVANCED SURROUND buttons.

This resets the DC overvoltage sensor and bingo the unit comes back to life again.

TV/SAT Video channel went out - Pioneer VSX516

Double check the video connection cable directly out of the SAT reciver and the video cable out from the Pioneer reciver, as there maybe an intermittant connection in them. If you replace them or sub them for known good ones, and you still have this probem, there is a switching IC inside the pioneer that has to be replaced.
