Indesign cs2 windows xp sp2

Just recently having the issue of the save as, export, place and the second window of print window not showing. (there are other ones as well but i assume , fix one fix all) Indesign greys out like they are open but no window shows. Pressing escape ungrays and releases indesign. If when I do a "save as" I just hit return the file saves but because I do not have the window visable I do not know where it save and with what setting.
I did a reinstall and still the same problem. This effectively makes indesign unusable.
