Question about Intel Motherboard

1 Answer

Motherboard problem Hello, I recently purchased parts for a computer, as this is my first build I have found myself admittedly quite lost during some of the stages of installation, at this point I can't figure out why my computer isn't outputting video. I have installed all components properly, the video card is properly seated and is plugged into a more than sufficient power supply, an Antec 1000W PSU. The computer starts up as it should, the fans start buzzing away and the MoBo flashes happily to show me that it's working. The problem begins here, all of the fans are running, but what is this? It seems that my video card is able to fan itself without actually having to run at all. Shortly speaking, my GPU's fan is spinning, but my monitor receives no video. Here's a brief background. I purchased (originally) an Intel DX38BT Motherboard, two sticks of Corsair 1333MHz (2x1GB) memory, and an EVGa Nvidia GEFORCE 9600 GT SSC. I ordered another board, an ASUS MAXIMUS EXTREME, the board seems to be working as indicated by all of the lights and fans running, but again, no video. I have 3 cards at my disposal currently, I have two 9600s, and a 6600 GS borrowed from a friend for testing purposes, the 6600 GS is 100% tested and working on his rig, but it still has the same problem on my rig. I would greatly appreciate some help, I hope to have the PC running by tomorrow, and I don't see any way to get that done without some help. Thanks a ton. :)

I have the same problem. I tried everything. So I RMA's it twice to ASUS and I am still waiting for the MB to be sent back to me. First time I sent the MB they said they flashed the BIOs, but it still didn't work. I have an 8800 GTX card and it works on my other computer. Fans spin on the pc, the fan spins on the 8800 GTX card but no video, no post, no beeps. I tried everything: removing the CMOS battery, tried one memory, then two(I have 2GB of Mushkin), still nothing. So I am at the mercy right now.

1)first u check by single ram, if not
2)remove the graphic card and connect moniter to onboard VGA, if done
3)refer the manual and select the jumper pins as master for AGP ,now connect to graphic card
4)if no display
5)remove the graphic card and try in on board vga

6)now you cant get display remove the bios battery and clear the cmos by using jumper pin short (refer mother board board manual ).then try with both VGA output
(NOTE:-if AGP or PCIE card present on board VGA not functoning)
all the best keep trying -i hope you get working pc by half an hour,if not call to profesional servicemens

regards

Hello
There is a small battery on the motherboard that needs to be replaced.

Unplug pc and remove side cover of case.Remove battery and replace with a new one.

These batterys can be bought at a cvs or k mart or any place you normally get batterys.

Here is a picture for you to reference.

Mother board freezes on abit logo wile starting....

Hello Carlos,

Did you open the powersupply and check? I have recently worked on a PC with a similar fault and I found that the circuit board is partly charred and couple of capacitors leaking. I advice that you check it and post back..( I can't forget that repair coz I got one hell of a shock while working on it)

Sai.

falcon_mark2,

I was going to ask you to clarify the motherboard model, but I found the link for you to download the driver which support most of the SIS audio product. Enjoy.

New build computer wont turn on (ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Socket 939)

The ATX power supply needs to have pin16(PS_On#) to be connected to COM for it to work. When you press the power switch on the front panel of the computer, you are essentially making this connection. Check that the cable from the power supply to the motherboard is making good connection. You can verify operation of the power supply by shorting Pin16 to pin17 on the powersupply output, with a paper clip. Pin16 is usually a green wire and 17 is black. Hope this helps. -Vish
