Fan in freezer has stopped working, have defrosted and fridge seems to be cooler.

Simply defrosting the freezer might solve your problem. Sometimes ice can form on the fan or fan motor, and of course, prevents the fan from turning.

If there is ice here, your refrigerator isn't defrosting properly. This sounds like a defrost problem that may need a part replaced. Check out this site for details and photos. Refrigerator Defrost Parts

Hi,
This could be a complicated problem to figure out exactly...
My feeling is that the defrost cycles and defrost termination is not working correctly...this is all a result of the main board being bad and giving wrong signals to the different equipment of the refrigerator...

I would change the main board and your problems will be over...

Coils freezing up

The fan motor in the freezer could be bad, sometimes even if it is working it is not working properly, it is not enough power to circulate the air and this will allow the coil to freeze, the other problem could be the heating element is not working and you will need to replace this part if it is not heating.

GE Model: GTS22KHPARBB Rerigator not working freezer working.

Look in the fresh food section (Fridge) and see if the cooling fan that blows cold air from the freezer is running, when the door switch is held closed, you might be able to feel and/or hear it while looking up at the "roof" of the fridge section.. Also, check the freezer section to make certain that you don't have food or boxes of frozen items blocking the vent that allows cold air to go from freezer into the fridge. Sometimes this is nothing more than an overstuffed freezer, which can lead to poor air circulation between the freezer and fridge. Another common problem is that when a overstuffed freezer section stays "stuffed" for a long time, (3-4 weeks), the air flow channel between the 2 sections can become frozen solid, thus preventing any air circulation. The fastest way to check for this and attempt to resolve this is to empty the entire fridge and freezer (into a ice chest/cooler, etc.) and allow the unit to defrost completely, but unplugging it and allowing both doors to stay open. Get some towels ready and wait at least 3-4 hours for a complete manual defrosting to occur. Good time to give the unit a cleaning while you're at it!

When done, close the doors and plug it back in and see if the freezer and fridge get to the proper temperature. You might want to reset the temperature controls to the factory defaults as sometimes people keep lowering the temp control trying to get things colder than they need to be.

The refrigerator & freezer operate using the same system. One system. Your still covered by the warranty and I would suggest calling the installers or store from which it was purchased. The problem may be a faulty fan switch .
