My hp2600 printer says carriage jam and I have already cleared it. I can't see anything blocking it but when i hit o.k. it makes a slight grinding noise but the carriage moves back and forth fine. I have opened the cover and removed the back clean out door and cleaned all surfaces that I can access with spray air in case any small particles would be cleared that might be causing the obstruction. After resetting the printer and trying multiple times, the error message won't go away. Please HELP! Thanks~!

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

I'm getting an error msg and can't print. It says please fix cartridge jam and hit enter. I can't find any jam. What do I do?

If there isn't a cartridge jam then it's probably a carriage jam:
However, I'm not too familiar with clearing a carriage jam. I just know that if your cartridges are not blocked then the carriage is likely at fault. You will need to Google this on how to fix a carriage jam.

I would say just turn this printer off and unplug it for an hour or so. Then see what it does when you turn it back on. If it still says clear paper jam then maybe there is a small piece of paper that you haven't found yet that the sensors are still seeing.

Check and clear any unfinished print jobs before turning the printer back on. Control panel>>>>printers >>>>then right click on your printer(hpofficejet 6210) properties-cancel print jobs

Hope this helps!

I am receiving an error message on my HP Officejet 6110 printer screen that prevents the printer from functioning. The message is "Open door. Clear carriage jam and then press enter." I've tried opening...

yes, that is a carriage jam and not paper, the grinding is from the clean station that gets blocked with dried ink and cant move. you need to open the printer and clean the ink off of the clean station so it can clean properly and not cause a carriage jam.

How do a clear a carriage jam on a hp6210 printer

My HP6210 printer had the same problem. The carriage would make a lot of noise going back and forth and I got the carriage jam error message. Using a flashlight, I found an incredible amount of ink (mainly black ink) underneath the mechaism which clears the ink off the print cartridges. I throughly cleaned the internal components and it works again.

Carriage Jam

Make sure you can move the print cartridge holder freely and that it isn't being blocked by anything inside the printer, also check if the cleaning station is in the right position, maybe it is locking the cartridges.

Carriage jam makes knocking noise

Take out the paper trey if it has one or just look for paper or any debre that may be caught in the gears or blocking the paper path. Once you have removed anything thats in the way, unplug it and plug it back in to clear the error. You may have to remove some of the parts to get to wherever the jam is.

Hp psc 750 cariage problem

Hmm...
Look inside the printer for anything that shouldn't be in there... like paper or dust.
Cariage jam is shown whenever the carriage is blocked by something... even the service station (the black container in the right where the cariage sleeps). With the printer cover open try to power up the unit. Look where the cariage stops. Ceck with a flashlight for any obstacles in that area. Olso verify if the service station is moving. It could be broken and the cariage cannot move away from it.
