I was first thinking it was a problem with my computer but then i tried it in my camera and my TomTom and it still didn't read it. What should i do??

My relatively new machine with Vista also does not recognize the SanDisk SD/HC 4GB card. It will read the camera via the USB 2 cable, but that uses a lot of battery power, so I'm still trying to figure out how to get the card to read directly...

Not all computers can read the new HC format. I've heard of possible driver updates to fix the issue but haven't been able to locate one for my HP Pavilion yet. A temporary fix is to buy a USB HC reader. Most of them come with drivers to help a non HC compatible computer read an HC card.
Good Luck!

The SD standard has a limit of 2 GB. All SD cards with larger capacity, like 4 GB, are non-standard and may exhibit any number of unexpected problems (such as not being recognized by various card readers.

To read this card in your computer, you may have to get a new card reader. And, unfortunately, there is no real way to tell if a given card reader will work with your 4GB card until you try it.

Need drivers for sandisk 4gb ata memory card for windows XP

You don't need drivers for that memory card for Windows XP. If it's not being recognized by Windows then I think the card is bad. Try using it in another system and see if it can recognize the card. I've seen several of these go bad and Windows sees a device but it can't use it because it's not working properly but there are no device drivers needed.

I have a 4gb sandisk micro sdhc with adapter and the computer freezes when i have it in the sd drive.I have a hp pavilion a1 a1203w. Is there anything i can do?? Please Help

I had a similar problem not long ago. The SD and SDHC standards are different. SD only goes up to 2GB, and SDHC (high capacity) goes higher than 2GB. THe problem is that SD card readers aren't capable of reading SDHC cards, even though the card will physically fit into the card reader slot. When you insert an SDHC card into an SD card reader, the reader attempts to read the format, and locks up the OS while trying. You'll need to get an SDHC card reader and use it separately like through a USB port or something.

Hi,
It will read SanDisk. You should have a card reader connected to it.

SanDisk mobile memory card

Yes, it is called a card reader, it cost about $15-20. They come with slots for most of the memory cards available. Find them at Office Depot,OfficeMax or BestBuy.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
