Question about Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD Player
We have the above named gizmo and it has been predictably useful until recently. Here's the little we know for sure:
First of all, the thing always (at least while it's plugged in) has a red light lit up on the front of it, but this light turns green when the power button is turned on. In short: now we can't get the green light to go on at all. The remote control seems to have no effect over the thing (although a new battery was put in), but each time a button is pushed on the DVD player, the red light just blinks. We haven't even been able to open the little drawer that holds the DVD (in fact, a really expensive film is stuck in there right now. :>(
We would be most grateful for any light you can shed!
The internal power supply has failed and is shutting down each time you try to turn it on. To remove your DVD there is a slot on the bottom labeled: Emergency.... with an arrow pointing the direction you need to push a lever to open the drawer. With good lighting you'll see the tab you need to slide over. Use a small flat blade screwdriver and the drawer will open enough to grasp it and pull it open. The power supply will need to be repaired, but it may have caused other damage and may be more expensive than buying a new player.
