Hello Roseanne,
You will have to open "My Computer" to access the DVD ROM and open/explore the disk from there by right clicking with your pointer on it and selecting open/explore or double clicking on it, then you'll be able to access those file extensions as a Data Disk wont auto run like your Video and Audio Disks do.
I hope this helps you.

Recorded pictures onto a DVD on my computer, they won't play on the ZV420mw8

I looked up your DVD player's model number online. It is not equiped to read picture files (.jpg, .bmp, etc.) You have to be carefull when you transfer pictures to a DVD on your computer. If you just burn them to the disc, most DVD players wont be able to read the information. Frequently you have to use a program like Microsoft Movie Maker to get them in the right format.

You may have to start over and use a DVD making program to make them a video and not just picture files.

Hope this helps! Don't forget to rate!

Hello there, Something I cant understand, my

Your DVD player will accept only Divx disc ( AVI files ) So use an encoder to convert your files into AVI before you write them.
The standard DVD is a format called MPEG 2 and don't confuse it with MPEG4.
Download the program for free from the link given below for your conversion.

I have a yamaha dvd-c750. I have just created a slideshow using iphoto on a Mac, burnt to a TDK DVD +R. Inserted into the DVD drive. Machine tries to load it. Gives a message "unknown disc"? ...

DVD players can be picky with the type of file format that they use. According to an review of this player, it does read DVD+RW/+Rs & DVD-RW/Rs so the problem probably resides in your file format.

The problem is probably the fact that the DVD Player does not recognize the file format of your Mac slide show. The computer recognizes this format, as it plays the slide show. The DVD player recognizes JPG file formats, which is the standard format of a picture.

If a DVD is made with JPG Files, not your slide show files, it will display thumbnails of each picture, allowing the choice of what picture to view.

If the slide show is a must, try to save it to a video file format, such as a *.mpg or *.avi which are common video file formats. These files would be movies of the slide show that you have made.

How do I open a PDF file on my Coby MP-707?

You will need to convert the PDF to a txt file to open the file on the Coby MP-707. You can carry it on the MP3 player to open with a computer with Adobe Reader or any Office Suite that handles pdf conversion. For example, Open Office will import pdf files if you add the pdf extension - the pdf will end up in Draw, IIRC.

I do not know how well the PDF to txt converters work. Here is one program,, that doesn't require you to upload the file to the internet first. Additional options can be found by google: enter PDF to TXT conversion.

This MP3 player can read MP3, WMA, MPG, VOB, MP4, AVI, FLV, WMV, JPG and TXT files. The Coby Media Manager included on the MP3 only player converts audio and video files.

I hope this helps.

File extension problem

It looks to me like a DVD file... What I mean by a DVD file is its come from a DVD disc you might have used on your PC and it can be anything like a text file, a language pack, a picture file itself but certainly not a video.

When Video DVDs are burnt, there are multiple files other than the video itself that show the movie menu screen on a DVD player such as "Play Movie", "Behind the scenes" etc. or a pack of different languages for a movie or something else. Such files mostly have a name that starts with VTS.
