Does the second laptop have wireless capability and is it enabled? If so, when you turn the computer on it should offer to connect as soon as it sees the wireless network. If you have WEP or WPA encryption enabled on the router, you will have to enter the passcode into your laptop.

My Belkin router stopped connecting my wireless laptop, and I cannot open its IP address 192.168.2.1. How can I reconfigure it?

Locate a small hole (usually at the back of the router). Inside this hole is a small button. Use a paper clip to press it for 10 seconds in order to reset your router. Doing this the router will restart and get to defaults. After this try to connect again and refer the results.

Can't get my wireless laptop to work. How do I connect the router to the computer?

First what type of router do you have? What is the model number?
Second ensure that your wireless switch (if your laptop has one) is set to on.
Go into view network connections and ensure your wireless card is enabled.
From you Desktop ensure that you are connected as described in the previous post.
Depending on your router make and model type in the ip address to the router.
Default for linksys is usually 192.168.1.1
DLink is usually192.168.0.1

From here it depends on your specific router.
There should be a wireless setup wizard.

Have wireless network at home trying to add my sons laptop to network but have forgot security key/passphrase which laptop is asking for

All you need to do is log into the router usually with the pc that is attached to the router (wired) by typing into the run command box http://192.168.1.1 Depending on the brand of router you'll either put in admin and no password or admin for the password or admin and password for password. Once in the router go to the wireless security tab and you can see the network key. Hope this helps

Upgrade the Firmware of the router :
First you should check the version of you WPN824 (v1,v2 or v3). If there are no Version after the model number, it should be a version 1. Download the Firmware of your router given the correct version at this link :

Greetings my name is Mark and I will be glad to assist you. First unplug the router power and let it stand for thirty seconds. Second locate a small hole in the rear of the router it will not be marked. Third insert a small paperclip in the hole, you will feel a click when you do this, hold the clip in place for thirty seconds, at the same time you are holding the clip in place re-connect the power to the router and count to thirty seconds. Remove the clip and allow the router to re-boot for two minutes. It will reset to factory default and you will be able to access the router through a hardwired computer connection. Open your internet explorer and in the address bar type "192.168.1.100" your user name is andmi and your password is admin this should default your router and you can make the necessary security changes. MY LAPTOP IN NY LIVING LOST ITS CONNECTION TO THE ROUTER..BUT I SAW A DIFERENT ROUTER NAME...WHAT DO I DO NEXT?

It sounds like your running wireless. Go to where you saw different router name. It probably should be an icon on your taskbar. If this is the case, right click on the icon and clink on show available wireless networks. Yours should be listed. The laptop may have connected to someone elses or a wireless nic card you have in another pc or someone's close bt. Just click on your network and say connect. This should fix your problem. Any other questions just add a comment and I'll be glad to come back and help.
