Does the second laptop have wireless capability and is it enabled? If so, when you turn the computer on it should offer to connect as soon as it sees the wireless network. If you have WEP or WPA encryption enabled on the router, you will have to enter the passcode into your laptop.

Want to find the password currently set up in a BelkinG wireless

On the back of the router there is a black button. Hold this for 10-30 seconds, it will remove the password. I recommend after completing that step, you log into the router via a browser and give it a password tho, to keep little demons from leeching your internet >:D

Connecting a second laptop to the wireless router

It is almost midnight where I am but I will try to get you started. There is a configuration option to a router where it can be given MAC addresses (quasi-unique addresses hardwired into every ethernet adapter). What you may be getting is a rejection message because the new wireless adapter's MAC address had not been configured into the router.

A second issue although the error sounds incorrect is the fact that each device requires a unique IP address -- if you copied the entire configuration using a static IP address from the first to the second adapter. Only one of you will be able to work at a time and the late arrival will be told he has a duplicate I{P address and will be notmally be blocked from network access. Other items can and should match like Subnet Mask, Default Gateway Address and DNS Addresses.

If this does not resolve the issue then add a comment and tomorrow morning on my side of the "Pacific Pond" I will try to expand on necessaary steps or provide alternative possibilities and actions to resolve the issues.

Good Luck
