I never use the computer hook-up programs/equipment that
come with a camera.
What you should try is a Card Reader Thumb Drive.
I recently bought one for SD cards at Office Max for about $12.
All you do is remove the card from your camera, insert it in the
thumb drive, plug the drive into a USB port, and take it from there.
A window will open up on your computer showing a folder named something like "DCIM". Just double-click on this folder
and you'll see a list of the pictures on the card.
Good luck!

i find that alot of times using the camera to unload your pictures to your computer is more trouble them you need to worry about. i say you just pull out the SD or SDHC card and plug that into you computer. if you dont have an SD or SDHC card reader in you computer you can pick up a cheap one for a few dollars online.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com)

Uploading pics

- Connect the smaller end of the USB
cable into the USB port of your DXG.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to your computer's USB port.
- The Digital video camera’s LCD Panel will turn on and will display
the PC Connection Menu
- Press the select button up or down button to select Mass Storage
Device option on the menu screen.

Goto my computer, you can see new 1 drive appear (or 2 if you have SD card in your DXG). So now you can copy/upload your pictures to your computer hard disk.

I cannot upload my pictures to the computer. I only have removeable disk g and that does not help.

You will have to get a way to connect the camera or the card to your computer, either a USB cord for the camera, which is my favorite way to quickly connect and load pictures to the computer, or get a USB card reader which you connect to the computer, inserting the card, and then downloading from card to computer. This is assuming that you have WindowsXP on the computer, so the solution is pretty automatic from there. If you have a Mac, it should also be this easy. If you have an older computer running older windows or DOS, you will have to use commands and software to connect and make the downloads. (And you should upgrade to WinXP ASAP-making your life easier!) Enjoy, digital photo work is Great!

Can't get pics off the camera!

USB can be funny some times- it has worked so you know what to do OK? Check-the USB setting- Start/ControlPanel/System hardware/device manager Rund down to the USB setting and open it check for any yellow makers intcatiing afault - seek help from there. If you are using a hub or have multiple other devices connected.- disconnec them and use the USB cord direct to computer. Have you remembered to switch the camera on- it has good batteries- set to upload Huh! So much to remember easy to forget something If the trouble wont go away- go buy a card reader and leave that lugged in to usb.
