I have the same problem - started a couple of weeks ago - let me know if you find a solution. I suspect there is a fault with the flash or is the R1 time bombed?

I have error code E:91:01 on my sony cyber shot dsc-w50 camera. I think it is related to the flash as this is not working. Also the flash 'sign' is flashing on the screen.

I have the same problem with my Sony Cybershot DSC W5 - E91:01 flashes and the flash symbal flashes. I tried the solution (several times) of going to the Menu and Initialing. The flashing goes away for a short time but then returns. During the time the flashing stops the "flash" on the camera still will NOT work. So.....there must be another solution. Please help!

Replaced the LCD screen on my Sealife DC-600 camera and now only get white screen.

I think you did something wrong while replacing the screen. It might look easy to replace a digital screen, but you should have the right skills to do so. The connections of a screen to a camera are very delicate and very small. just a bit to far to the left, right, front or back, could cause serious trouble, in not working or not correct working of the screen. Or worse permanent damage of the screen. I would try to go to a phone repair shop, because most of the repair guys there, know how to connect a screen. I hope they will help you and the screen or its cables are not damaged.

Nikon coolpix s3300, no screen to take pics but screen works fine to view and use the menu

The only possible thing I can find, is the brightness of the screen. Perhaps it is adjusted to complete dark.
You also could try to press the button with the little camera on it. When you have a USB cable connected to the camera, the screen will be blank too. On my Powershot from Canon, there is a display button, when pressing it I can cycle between normal screen, Grid on the screen and screen off. I can't find anything similar in the manual of the 3300, but perhaps there is a function like that on your camera too?

My touchscreen on my new sony tx7 camera got scratched in my handbag, and the indent is interfering with anything i try to do...is there anything i can do? is it possible to replace the screen?

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear that the new DSC-TX7 Camera screen got scratched. You can get the screen replaced with the help of a service technician. Changing the LCD screen of the Camera is bit expensive. Contact the Service Technician to check if the screen requires a replacement or the entire LCD screen. I suggest you to use a screen protector (scratch guard) which is available with the SonyStore. This will help you in avaoiding scratches on the screen.

Camera switches itself off unless the viewing screen is closed.the camera will still take shots using the viewing lense but will shut off immediately if the screen is opened.

This behavior comes when the camera is confused about whether the flip-screen is snapped into the camera screen out or screen in (for protection). The screen is supposed to turn off automatically when you snap it into the camera-back screen down. But if you flip and twist it in a certain way, the camera gets confused. I'll bet that if you keep your screen out, on the side of the camera, you can take pictures just as well as ever. To fix the problem, flip the screen out with the camera on, then rotate it all the different ways you can which allow you to close it with the face out. One of the orientations will leave the screen on, I believe. At least this procedure is the one I followed on my A610 to fix the same problem.

Digital camera screen broken

A cracked screen will cost you, but maybe not as much as you think. Instead of replacing the whole , you can spend about $300 and replace the screen yourself. All you need is a small screwdriver.

1)Turn off the power to your screen and unplug all cables connected to it.
2)Remove the battery, if one is installed.
3)Locate the covered screws around the cracked screen. Remove the rubber/plastic covers, then unscrew the screws.
4)Gently remove the plastic frame around the cracked screen and set it aside.
5)Disconnect any power cords or cables going into the LCD screen.
6)Remove the cracked screen and slide the new screen into place. Replace any tape or plastic fasteners that hold it in place.
7)Reconnect all internal cords to the screen.
8)Screw in the frame and replace all the screw covers.
9)Reconnect the power supply and all external cables to the LCD screen and switch it on.

My LCD screen has cracked and doesn't display anything. Everything else works fine, so I am thinking a replacement screen is all it needs. They are available on ebay, but can anyone assist with how to...

You may be able to find a screen on ebay. Otherwise you can send the camera in to Casio, and they will put in a new one for $50.
To remove old screen, remove all screws to camera, slowly pull it apart, then you will see screen and ribbon cable that attaches screen to camera circuit board. The ribbon cable easily slides out of screen and screen can easily be pulled off

Nikon coolix li8 lcd screen is showing a blurry screen with verticle lines.

Vertical lines are from bad contacts (some of the signals are missing), ether ribbon connector is oxidized or the connector itself damaged. Sometimes the screen connection with the ribbon dries out with time and the damage is permanent. Solution can be a new screen, or main board. The screen may have also a tiny invisible crack on the edge, then your solution is a working screen. Buy an as is camera from ebay for the screen

Coolpix nikon digital camera

This sounds like a broken or cracked LCD screen. The backlite is working, thus you will get the white screen. The LCD could also be disconnected internally, or has other problems. But this is a direct problem with the LCD.
A camera like this can usually take pictures, and you may be able to use it to set the menus by using the video cable to the TV or computer screen (some flat screens have video inputs).

If I change the startup screen, what happens to the old startup screen?

Except for the built-in preset startup screen, changing the startup screen causes the previous screen to be deleted from startup screen memory. You will not be able to reuse a replaced startup screen unless you have its image saved somewhere else.
