Change the language on the garmin nuvi 1300

Hi, Go to properties in menu and check that language is in english and click OK.
When the software was updated it must have changed. Good luck.

tools--tools this is the same this is dutch language i think it might help

• Press TOOLS, the spanner symbol on the page with WHERE TO and VIEW MAP
• Press SETTINGS, the spanner symbol, or LOCALE, the blue symbol on models that don't have a settings menu
• Press LANGUAGE the lips symbol

This will bring you to a page with 3 items on it; VOICE, TEXT LANGUAGE and KEYBOARD
Press VOICE and select an English speaking voice
Press TEXT LANGUAGE and select English or American English if you're in the USA

This should solve your problem

tools.... settings......language.....make sure you use an american english one

Not sure on your unit but my Garmin 760 is in Tools.... Settings..... Language....

when doing this only a language ending in ( TTS ) are voice if you pick something without that ending you will not have voice turn by turn
