Dryer Won't Start

My Maytag Performa PYE2300AYW dryer has quit working. After doing several loads of laundry it decided it was tired and now won't do a thing when I push the button. I really need the dryer strike to end, so any suggestion on how to fix it would be great! Thanks...

Maytag PYE3200AYW won't run: Power at terminal block, Door switch good, thermal fuse reads low resistance. Heating element good. Control thermostat (w/ heater) seems good - located on blower housing. Light does not come on (bulb good). Can mechanical timer affect all these functions, including light?.

PYE3200AYW wont start. I have power at terminal block. My thermal fuse tests ok. I suspect the timer. Any tests I can perform on mechanical timer?

Most common problem with the dryers is blown thermal fuses, something gets too hot and for safety reasons the thermal fuse blows. You can also check your incoming power supply make sure the breakers havent tripped. part num( LA-1053 )about $30 comes with directions to install. its located under main top towards the rear of unit moundted to the side of heater.BE SURE TO TURN OFF ALL POWER BEFORE CHECKING ITS LIVE!!!!!!!!!

Here is the link to the owners manual. This feature is not mentioned. Look at the molding in the metal case of the front of the dryer. See if there are identical moldings for the door and latch on both sides. If not, no. Only alternative is to get longer connection hoses and swap washer with dryer left to right.

Maytag performa dryer model pye2300ayw, what should the ohms reading be on the thermal fuse?

doesn't matter,it's either good or bad, when you touch the meter to it if it reads 1 and doen't move it's bad if you get any reading it's good,if the dryer is loaded with lint in the duct that the lint filter slides into and the vent line is blocked it will keep popping on you, clean out the dryer, number one cause for popping the thermal fuse

It is taking 3 full cycles to dry my small loads on my Maytag Performa PYE2300AYW. I have cleaned lint tray and trap. I need to clean the lint from the inside of my dryer - How do I do this?

The main area that you have to clean is the pipe leading from the back of your dryer to outdoors. Pull your dryer away from the wall. Unplug it. Unfasten the vent pipe. Now look into the back of the dryer exhaust and remove any lint you see there then look into the vent pipe and remove any lint. Finally go outdoors and remove any lint you see in the pipe or the pipe grill/cover.

You have a thermal overload switch that may be bad. It is located under the top of the dryer. Check first the breakers. Turn them off and then back on, then check the wiring in the back of the dryer and then the element itself. It may take 30 minutes to do all of this, but it will save you a lot in the long run.
