Maytag electric stove approximately 8 years old. Today while using the oven (Bake setting), after about 20 minutes the stove displayed F1, beeped, shut off the bake element, but entergized the broiler element. I tried canceling all indicators but eh over would not respond, or turn off the broiler. I switched off the breaker, waited 30 minutes and turned on the breaker. The clock came back on but the broiler started heating up.
Is this a control panel issue or possibly a sensor?

Re: MAYTAG STOVE PROBLEM...NEED HELP
The broiler came on automatically??? not a sensor issue. sounds as if you have a broken wire perhaps, or a faulty control panel energizing the broil element w/o being prompted to. does it say its broiling when element comes on??
Did a oven clean and tryed the oven,.. my oven will not come on i tryed the braker reset and click back to panel display F1..tryed waiting a hour.. but reset and click" back to F!..will not heat up the oven elements...can u tell me what to do

mine does the same, the sears tech investigated today and was told by the tech support that it is a known issue and the ignitor module and burner need replaced. I'm mad at getting a replacement range [for another maytag failure under warranty] with a known issue that leaves us without a reliable oven for a month!
When I turn on my Maytag performa using the "bake" function, everything looks ok on the display, however the temp. never rises above 100. I've tried "bake" and "convect", and neither one work. "Clean" doesn't work either. The oven will lock, and display shows that it's heating up, but temp. never rises. However....."broil" feature works just fine. Please help.
I have the same problem. I bought it new in the fall of 2007. They replaced the control panel but that didn't help. Next they replaced the whole range with a new one, same model, still the same problem. They told me it was a problem with my electric in my house. Then they said it was a strange electro-magnetic field in my neighborhood and I would have to buy a different brand? One time with the original stove the oven quit working and I had to re-set the breaker. Everything still works but the clock is always wrong. We bought all Maytag stuff, including fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. The kitchen stuff is 4 years old. The washer and dryer are 3 years old. We have had this issue with the stove, the washing machine broke and they had to replace the whole drum assembly, and last week my refrigerator broke. Very disappointed with Maytag stuff. So has anyone found a solution?
your stove doesnt have any internal fuses. if you are not getting "any" of the units to get fully hot, then you might have a house fuse that has blown or a breaker that has tripped. it is also possible that the cord has a burnt connection at the rear of the unit where it connects to the units block. if you only have no heat in the oven, then you may have just a burnt out bake element.
